2.0 out of 5 stars This thing, completely made of hollow plastic, arrived ..., 2 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Silver Top Cane (Toy)
This thing, completely made of hollow plastic, arrived already bent and snapped within 2 hours of using it with the lightest pressure.

The only reason I do not give it 1 star is that it's labelled as a prop. although this is probably a prop you should just look at and never touch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the Far East of Harkuna!, 10 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The 6th "land" in the Fabled Lands series and a great setting for the hardest adventures yet. Slay a dragon (and find it's mystical pearl), meet the Tengu (and convince them to teach you their arts) and take part in the intrigue of the courts of the Lords of the Rising Sun.

5.0 out of 5 stars The mysterious court revels itself!, 21 Aug. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Probably the most iconic of the 6 (so far) nations presented in the series (in my opinion), where you can choose to side with the ancient High King to recover his throne or pursue eternal glory through the Court of Hidden Faces (or, help both if you don't like to take sides!). The rewards in this journey are worth the risk and any fabled lands adventurer (or any other adventurer for that matter!) should happily set out to explore these lands.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Gamebook RPG, 27 Nov. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the re-release of the first book of one of the best gamebook RPGs ever produced. Unlike "traditional" gamebooks, the Fabled Lands (FL) adventures span across a number of different books, with each book representing different parts of this fantastic world. Quest can begin in one book and end up crossing other two, jut to finish in a fourth book. Each book can be played as standalone adventures, but they are best when combined (there are a total of 6 soon to be published books and other 6 to be published in the future). This first book is the best one in which to start your adventures, but soon you will be hungering for all 12!

The adventures sold are in turn epic, funny and always intriguing, coupled with Russ's awesome illustrations you will find yourself spending countless hours lost in its pages. The book is set in is deep and complex and you will soon find yourself deeply immersed in it.

I can't recommend this enough, whether you like videogame RPGs, traditional p&p RPGs or gamebooks.

Xbox 360 Wired Controller for WINDOWS PC
Xbox 360 Wired Controller for WINDOWS PC

5.0 out of 5 stars The only controller to buy, 28 July 2008
The truth is that I was never too big on controllers, but having got a hold of GRID and Lego Indiana Jones, I decided that needed one.

This is THE controller, if you don't already have one, or are not looking for a specialist type, I highly recommend this one!

Pro's: Great design, comfortable in the hands, new games come with in built compatibility (no need to set the keys), great for football, action, platform and driving games, very responsive, same standard as an Xbox 360 controller. No need for batteries, drivers install in a minute. Can be used as a second controller if you have an Xbox 360, the wire means that you don't accidentally turn on the Xbox when you use it.

Con's: It wasn't available a few years ago.

Tested on: Race Driver Grid, Lego Indiana Jones, Devil May Cry 4, Pro Evolution Soccer 4

Overall: Excellent, if you want a controller, this is it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Phantom - a move away from the ghosts of the past., 22 July 2006
I cant remember when the series became quite unwieldly for the author, but as for the Wheel of Time, the Sword of Truth is Picking up at the end, as all the loose knots are tied.

Finally we get to see what Barracus had in mind for Richard.

We get deeper insights into the order.

We see how flawed the people are, the good the bad and the ugly (Jagang!)

The only problem I have, though, is that the book seems to have a very clear dichotomy of what good and bad is, there seem to be no shades of grey in there. All the order is represented as being evil, brutal... but we dont really see the alternative that is given to these people.

But things do get a move on, Richard stops moping around and gets things done, Khalan, in her own way does the same. I dont want to give things away too much.

But I got the book 3 days ago... and I dont want it to end!

I recommend it highly!
