5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible First World War Story, A Bold Step forward...., 1 Feb. 2014
with Irish Aviators of World War 1: Volume 1, Irish Aces:, Joe Gleeson has taken the bold step in acknowledging Ireland's inclusion in the air war of World War 1. 37 biographies and 11 additional biographies of pilots from the period. Over 400 pages of information, including some 27 photographic images. This self published work should rightfully take it's place in the library of Irish Military History. British and Irish Publishers take note ! Why do our true historians have to look outside Britain and Ireland to find a publisher... ? I look foward to the further volumes in Joe's work....

A Man For Hanging (1973)
Liberation Entertainment DVD
4:3 Pan and Scan
75 minutes.
Picture quality on DVD was quite good. music Soundtrack sometimes a little intrusive on the dialogue.
Chapter stops with no extras.
Peter Breck (The Big Valley) plays misogynist-pyscopath Avery Porter on his way to meet up with his cohort, Michael Pataki, to split the proceeds of a bank robbery. Along the way he kills and mutilates a number of woman all the while being persued by a posse led by Paul Carr, David Macklin and Walker Edmiston, later joined by the lovely Brooke Bundy.
A brutal western for it's time with a star performance from Peter Breck, well supported by an accomplished cast of actors. Not everyone's taste, may be for western completists or those looking for obscure off beat 70's movies at a budget price.More can be found on the making of this film on [...]

Camel Active Men's 120.11 Classic Shoe.
These shoes at UK size 8 were a neat fit, leather was quite hard. Ankle collar chaffed a bit. First day out the rain soaked them through and they absorbed the moisture like a sponge, soon after the leather came away from the edge around sole allowing the damp in. The leather in these shoes has not been treated and is not advisable in wet conditions. Within 2 months of use the shoes were all but redundant and leather when dried out was like hardboard and the colour washed out. It's a pity, they are a nice looking shoe but would advise the buyer use shoe and boot Dubbin to help seal the leather. At this price the manufacturer should do a little more work with the leather.

Nice image poster for the French release of Joseph Losey's The Criminal (Concrete Jungle - 1960).
The reproduction is obviously a print out from a smaller thumbnail image as there is some flare and pixelation around the lighter coloured areas on the print. Not high definition - resolution.
Fair price though.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Film, disc description misleading., 23 Nov. 2010

REVIEW: for the Korean All Regions NTSC release. 122 minutes - 1:85:1 picture ratio.

A great story of one man against the odds. As Far As My Feet Will Carry Me, original german title, So weit die Füße tragen (2001) won the award of Best Production Design for Valentin Gidulyanov at the 2002 Milan International Film Festival. Unfortunatley the Korean release of the movie is the shorter International release at 122 minutes. The DVD cover is misleading in that it claims to be the original 2:35:1 aspect ratio but is in fact 1:85:1 more suitable for 16:9 telvisions. The picture is at times a little pixelated, english subtitles are burned on and DVD image is not re-mastered. But don't let it spoil the viewing of this great story. A re-mastered release of the 158 minute version would get a 5 star rating

5.0 out of 5 stars Fine tribute to authentic screen star, 8 Nov. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Robert Shail has written a fine tribute to one of Britain's true authentic leading screen actors.
Only yet available in hardback and at 160 pages and 20 photographs and stills, it may at first seem too little but it lists all of Stanley Baker's film work interspersed with biographical details of the actor's life. Really what a good biography should be.
Highly Recommended.
