5.0 out of 5 stars Of course it is all happening inside your head Harry, but how on earth does that mean it is not real?, 18 July 2011
Right, I am a massive Potterhead, so I will try not to write pages and pages and keep this short and sweet.

Good things about the film:
1) Special effects
2) Alan Rickman's acting
3) The scenes with McGonagall and Longbottom
4) Epic conclusion
5) "Snape's Past" and "King's Cross" both depicted well

Bad things:
1) Certain things changed from the book which I wasn't happy with
2) The Harry Potter 3D glasses were more expensive
3) The 3D made no difference to the plot

Overall, and epic film to depict the end of a great series. Not to be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best non graphic calculator around, 13 Oct. 2009
This calculator is perfect. It has a sigma button, a calculus button (for integration and differentiation) and shows all answers as roots and fractions or multiples of pi, then converts them to a decimal with a button push. Really easy to use and fantastic price. Buy one if you study Maths/ Further Maths/ Physics for A level or you're missing out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch these films!, 5 Oct. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I ordered these films about 2 weeks ago and I have watched them all. My favourite one is Todo Sobre Mi Madre by far and the worst in my opinion is Volver. They all show the revolutionised post-Franco Spain in Almodovar's eyes; this is shown particularly well in Mal Educacion.

They also are good at helping you with A Level Spanish, and help you understand more about what Spain went through when Franco died.

Watch them! They are good films.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap & Cheerful, 5 Oct. 2009
This hard case is really useful; it stops the screen becoming scratched and is easy to take on and off. Perhaps one downside is that it really increases phone width, but since the phone is thick already it's not really a problem.

Ahh, The Big Bang Theory, where do I begin?

First off, I hate most sitcoms. I find Friends repetitive and Chuck just irritates me beyond belief.
But this is something else.

Interestingly, I came across the Big Bang Theory on a flight home from Sydney to Heathrow. It was the first episode of season two. Amazed at how funny it was, I bought the whole of season 1 and watched it all in one day. It's freaking hilarious for five simple reasons:

1) Sheldon Cooper, one of the leads, is extemely intelligent but lacks basic social skills. He is quite horrible to people without realising and only Leonard, his roommate, can put up with him.
2) The banter between Sheldon and Penny. This should come under point 1), but the banter is so funny that it merits its own category. Penny, a waitress, never understands what Sheldon is talking about, so Sheldon patronises her all the time making fun of her supposedly limited intellect. This annoys Leonard because he really fancies Penny.
3) The intelligent jokes told. The jokes aren't like jokes in other sitcoms, you have to know a certain amount of Maths / Physics to know some jokes.
4) Rajesh Cuthrapali and Howard Wolowitz. An Indian who is terrified of women and can't speak around them and a horny Jew who lives with his mother.
5) All the little characters that come in. Missy, Sheldon's attractive twin sister, Sheldon's mum, Howard's never seen but heard mum, Rajesh's parents on his webcam, Leslie Winkle and the owner of the Chinese restaurant are just a few extra characters that make the sitcom ten times funnier.

I have pre-ordered season two because I love The Big Bang Theory so much.

Just to summarise, watch an episode on Youtube or something if you haven't seen it yet, and if you like it buy it because you're missing out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great tracks from a talented artist, 2 Mar. 2009
A good selection of songs from a great singer. My favourites are Dirrty, Beautiful and Candyman. Well worth the money but note some of the tracks have changed slightly on the CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sequel, 2 Mar. 2009
I disagree with the other reviewers here about this one not being as good. I thought it was excellent for ... reasons:
1) The completely over exaggerated English stereotypes. The villainous Lord who is tenth in line to the throne CANNOT act to save his life, and although people think this is bad for the film, I think it makes it much funnier. Owen Wilson continually attacking the English gets on your nerves after a while however when you see the likes of the Lord and the cockney boy (Charlie Chaplin) you can see why.
2) Jackie Chan's fighting. This is MUCH better than in the first film and adds a few comedy twists.
3) The detective's investigative technique. I think this is a good comeback at Wilson for his jibes on the English.

Overall a funny film with good action and fighting, well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game, 2 Mar. 2009
This review is from: Diablo II (Win) (Video Game)
Our family have had this game for ages and it is great to use in half terms and summer holidays just to fill in some spare time. However it is annoying once you start playing during the week because you don't get other more important things done!
Other reviewers have mentioned about all the classes so I will review other things they haven't mentioned (I am talking strictly about single player mode here).
Expansion pack: I have never played DII without, so if you don't have one get one now!
Difficulty levels: in my opinion the first level, normal, is far too easy while the jump between that and Nightmare is too big. However the most annoying monsters are the Flayer Shaman because, unless you have good fire resistance, they drain your health. And on nightmare the "Undead Stygian Dolls" are horrible: they explode when dead and probably kill you, losing you a ton of gold which can really wind you up.
Horadric cube: this can be really useful. Type in "Horadric Cube" on google and check out the recipes.
"Hardies" (monsters of a certain type with extra skills e.g. Beetleburst and Creepng Feature but not Andariel or Duriel the bosses): try to kill a lot of these because they give you good stuff and increase experience.
Class-equipped items: Don't bother with this on normal level, but on Nightmare and Hell pick up class equipped items (i.e. Scepter classes, Wand classes and Claw Classes for an assassin) even if they're not blue coloured. They are likely to have spells on increasing the value of the item.

Anyway, this is a great game, and for the price well worth your money.

3.0 out of 5 stars O.K., 20 Feb. 2009
Having watched previous episodes of Bean and the Ultimate Disaster Movie, I was definately keen to see this movie and enjoy it
It is definately watchable but not up to Rowan's usual standard. The best bit was when the woman singing opera came on and he acted with the boy in an attempt to get money. That bit made me laugh. And the end was sweet. The rest wasn't so funny. Overall a good film but not worth the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good film by two good actors, 19 Feb. 2009
This review is from: Changing Lanes [DVD] [2002] (DVD)
This is a very interesting movie. Two normal men both in a rush to get to a court case. One car hits the other. The man who breaks his car asks for a lift, but the other man refuses. But he leaves the file behind. And so "Changing Lanes" begins.

This film has two fairly famous but not all-known actors who play their roles well and somehow pull of their revenge convincingly. Although irrelevat to the actual plot I also like the fact that one is glasses and the other does not; one is black and one is white; both having problems with the court. It shows that these aspects of greed and revenge can happen to anyone and therefore comes down to human nature.

This movie is entertaining and gripping but cannot be watched by very young children, as they deviate adults from the plot and will not understand what is occurring.
