How Did We Get So Dark?

3.0 out of 5 stars The difficult second album..., 5 July 2017
This review is from: How Did We Get So Dark? (Audio CD)
It was never going to be easy to reach the heights of their debut, and unfortunately this new album does not move the game on any further. Whilst having a fairly unique sound and style, I would hope that a noticeable progression would have been made this time around. Still, there are some great individual tracks and it's still worth a listen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very impressive work, 14 May 2017
Great electro pop album. Full of catchy songs that take you somewhere else. Very mellow yet upbeat. 'Sweet' is a highlight. Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok, I guess..., 14 May 2017
This review is from: Humanz (Audio CD)
A few good singles, but that's all this album is worth. Not enough originality. It's almost like an anti-gorillaz album, as whatever influence or creativity came from Albarn and co is lost behind 'popular' mainstream collaborations. Not their best work.

2.0 out of 5 stars Same old..., 14 May 2017

Cheezy pop-rock by numbers. Kasabian could do so much better but instead choose to churn out the same old chart pleasers. It will fill out the summer festivals, if not the imagination.

4.0 out of 5 stars Impressed, 24 Oct. 2016
I wasn't expecting a full-on 'Untouchables' era sound, but in fact this album is very heavy, the vocals are a return to form for Jonathan and overall the sound is earlier style Korn, which is a very good thing in my opinion. There are still enough new elements for the songs to sound fresh without reverting to the same old. Favourites so far are 'Rotting In Vein', 'The Hating' and Everything Falls Apart'. Very impressed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, 16 Oct. 2016

I wasn't expecting great things based upon Green Day's recent track record, however I have been pleasantly surprised with this album. 'Bang Bang' is my personal favourite and brings the traditional Green Day sound bang up to date, but the album as a whole is pretty consistent. Hopefully they can progress this sound onto the next album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Feeder album, 15 Oct. 2016
This review is from: All Bright Electric (Audio CD)
A really great, solid, consistent album. The best that Feeder have released in quite a while. Stand out tracks are the two opening songs 'Universe of Life' and 'Eskimo', plus 'Infrared-Ultraviolet', but every song is worth repeated listens. Welcome back!
