5.0 out of 5 stars Bloody Good Fun, 25 Feb. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)

OK...So maybe the movie could look slicker - but hell...what are micro-budget horror movies meant to be about? Alex Chandon has been threatening to put a mastered 'redux' edition into the marketplace for a while...lets hope he does. This is what Horror is meant to be...Dani Filth cutting people up...Emily Booth Pregnant by Satan...Amputated Limbs out for revenge and Dwarves with agendas...yep - can't knock it! Bloody Good Fun! Plus a great soundtrack by undergound electronic types 'The Dark Poets' - Highly rated!

5.0 out of 5 stars A STUNNING DEBUT!!!, 11 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Galactic Tourists (MP3 Download)
A big shout to all at crossrhythms for the storming review of Galactic Tourists. Heres what Peter Timmis had to say:
RATING: 9/10
Sit down and fasten your safety belts, this is going to be a ride you're not going to forget. Anyone familiar with the band already know what to expect; razorwire guitars, in-your-face drumming, a relentless pace and, of course, the maniacal vocals of James Liskutin aka Jamie careless - the Christian equivalent of Johnny Rotten, maybe, a charismatic, engaging frontman in his own right, definitely. The album opens with the energetic "25 Feet Per Second" a song guaranteed to get audiences pogo-ing when the band perform it live. Not to be confused with some of the more one dimensional noise-merchants that litter the genre, there are big chorus's here that imprint themselves onto the consciousness. In particular the melodic groove on "The Evening Star (Jesus On The Street)" and "Bringing It Back Home" that features fuzzed up, heavy riffing that Led Zeppelin would be proud to call their own. The Bowiesque "Do You Believe (In God? In Love?)", written and recorded with electronic producer Patrick Hunter, is an interesting and successful diversion displaying new found levels of maturity and hinting at an exciting, possible future direction. Seemingly unstoppable and unwilling to compromise, the future looks very bright for [Careless].

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TRACK - BUT AMAZON MESS UP!, 10 Sept. 2009
This review is from: Electro.Is.Dead (MP3 Download)
A Great slice of cheeky electro filth...a true pop song for the 21st Century. London Band The Problem Being make a genuine colourful splash on the scene. However Amazon seem to have listed the remix a 'Dead Poets' remix - Amazon!!! sort it out! Its actually a remix by those broody techno-types 'THE DARK POETS'! (See Gary Lucas Vs The Dark Poets and Some Bizzare records) - An excellent Single and a cheeky knowing pop anthem. The DARK POETS remix is ace too! Download this!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Compilation - a must have!, 5 Dec. 2008
This review is from: Heat: The Remixes (Audio CD)
I disagree with most of the aged purist's on this forum - they don't seem to have moved on since their teens in the 80s.

This is an excellent 21st century club update of Soft Cells hits and curiosities - The Yer Man Mix of 'Heat', and mixes of'Meet Murder My Angel' 'Martin' and 'Sex Dwarf' Remixes are excellent, the Dark Poets version of 'Barriers' is also gentle genius. And the Memory Bands version of 'Youth' is heartbreaking.

Highly recommended.

SNAP THIS ALBUM UP NOW!!!!! - This was one of a few albums that came out in 2006 on the somebizzare label that didn't recieve much press attention - however...those in the know realised pretty quickley that this was the underground record of the year...

This record is twisted hip hop genius from beginning to end - the album is a frenetic mish mash of engineered synthed up hip hop beats and an excellent collection of samples of old horror film and b movie clips. The genius of this album is most evident on the track 'Fly Beats' (although there's not a single track on the album that doesn't please) Fly beats - (an excellent hip hop pun) mashes up music from the david cronenberg movie 'the fly' with classic hip hop samples "I ask the guy why is he so fly?"....this is referencial hip hop at it's best.

The music - the programming - the scratching - the samples...everything on this album is perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly uncompromising album from the darkside of electronica., 24 Jun. 2008
This review is from: Scanners (Audio CD)
If You're serious about your electronic music - you could do far worse than to purchase this. Kontour (Producer David Hunt) is first and foremost an artist - and astoundingly original with it. The album is a dark brooding audio collage of disjointed warped electronic vocals and bassy analogue synths...In many ways this record completely defies definition ony terms whatsoever - and is impossible to pigeonhole (Some Bizzare records are known for being forward thinking in their releases) -

This record is EXCEPTIONALLY DARK!!!! and you'll understand what I mean when you sit down to immerse yourself in it - a genuine trip through the unspeakable. - I'm a serious record collector - and I can honestly say I havn't come accross such and uncompromising artist vision as this for a very long time indeed.

The subtlety and the mood of the album will be lost of most people - but then most people listen to middle of the road daytime radio 1 - for those of you with a little more intelligence and a little bit more musical knowledge...consider this a recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE FOR ELECTO NUTTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 24 Jun. 2008
This review is from: GEARBALL (Audio CD)'re out of school, your job sucks, you don't have any monay and all the dreams that had once been promised you have been ripped away - BUT DON'T WORRY!!! THERE'S GL1TCHGOR3!!!!

The maddest selection of drill and bass/glitch/hip hop/gabba fusion with a shamelessly cartoonish edge - this album is just sheer unsurpassed fun from beginning to end (download any single random track from itunes or something if you don't belive'll see...) Frenetic High energy madness of which we're not used to hearing. This record is underground as hell...and is fastly attracting a cult following. Unsuprisingly - Gl1tchGore are on the British Some Bizzare label - long since known for championing the leftfield and establishing the abstarct as the pop-norm....GEARBALL is worth every penny - no self respecting electronica nut or DJ should be without this - an underground classic!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just brilliant., 22 April 2008
Korean cinema? This film simply demonstrates and justifys why there's such an resurgence of interest in east asian cinema. This is a movie that puts nearly everything hollywood has produced in the last 10 years to shame. no joke. It's subtitled...and I've watched this film with dyslexics and they've come away from it in awe. just watch this - a gauranteed intelligent adult treat!

Yes...this is easily one of the most seminal and perfectly concieved albums of all time. If you have read the other reviews you should have ordered your copy by now. I'll add my tuppence by saying that personally I feel there's moments on this album that scratch the surface of divinity itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars the most perfect electronic ambient record of all time., 22 April 2008
...yes...easily....15 years on and you still hear snatches of this iconic album in everything electronic. Boy Genius Richard D James created the most perfect, gentle, epic (and sometimes quietly agressive) brooding electronica. To say this album is iconic is an understatement. If you're reading this review and you don't think you're aware of this record - you're wrong...or you've been hiding away from all music and media for the last 15 years - it's easily one of the most important electronic albums of all time (ranking amongst giants such as Jean Michelle Jarr - The Art of Noise - hell...even the prodigy admit to being influenced by aphex twin)

This is simply a 'perfect' album. in 100 years you could argue that people will mention Richard D James in the same breath as Bach....that sounds like a serious overstatement...but buy this record RIGHT NOW and you'll understand why. I hate the word genius...but this is genuinely genius. (and that's a habit that Mr Richard D James has seldom broken)

BUY THIS RECORD!!! It will genuinely enhance your life...and that's not a joke.
