The perfect book to take your cooking to the next level!, 14 May 2013
This is not just a book, it's a work of art! The presentation and the quality of the images are, in themselves, Michelin standard and show how perfectly the food should be presented. It really gives you something to aim for! The book starts by describing the effort involved in the day to day running of a 3 star restaurant, which is clearly no mean feat. Gordon's passion for cooking and his desire for perfecton really shine through.The beutifully detailed pictures of each dish leave you wishing you could cook them, so it's a very pleasant surprise when you turn to the second section of the book and realise that these are the recipes on offer! There are numerous starters, mains and desserts, of varying complexity. These are not 30 minute dishes and certainly not for the faint hearted, so if beans on toast is your forte, look elsewhere. However, if you're prepared to put in the effort and spend a whole day creating a sublime meal, this may well be the book for you. To be honest, though, it's actually worth buying just because it's so pretty!
