This is a beautiful product - perfectly handcrafted and a perfect fit (very easy to install), it's of very high quality and it's genuine real wood. I was encouraged by the positive reviews but now I have received it and own one - I can endorse these views, it's incredibly impressive and wouldn't hesitate in recommending. Will be buying more balolo products in the future - stunning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perservere - it takes work but it's well worth the effort....., 18 Sept. 2007
This review is from: Necessary Evil (Audio CD)
It comes as no surprise that the latest outing by Deborah Harry is a sonic assault on the listener - having been a fan of both DH and Blondie since 1975 (small kid back then!), I've grown up to realise that DH never releases an immediately accessible album when it comes to solo work. Her single releases are always radio friendly but act as no clue to the main work of the album.

The latest is the most complex and diverse collection of songs so far in her solo catalogue. However, all is not lost - give it time and you will find that the album starts to make sense and ..... even sounds cohesive if you can manage to leave your finger off the skip button on second listen!

Forget the classic 80's pop of the opener "Two Times Blue" the all familiar "Blondie" pop sound starts and finishes here - it's a great track and deserves its rightful place as the first act, however, it all goes true DH thereafter with an amazing range of musical styles fusing together as you travel an intelligent sonic soundscape which crosses all genres, it abuses your ears;('School for Scandal', 'Necessary Evil') has you relaxing;('If I Had You', 'What is Love', 'Needless to Say') makes you feel uncomfortable;('You're Too Hot', 'Charm Redux'), makes you want to dance; ('Deep End', 'Whiteout' and the fantastic experimental tribal funk of 'Jen Jen') and then back to chilling with the lyrically ironic 'Paradise'.

This is not a pop, punk, rock or alt album - it's a 100% Deborah Harry album and it's well worth the time and effort, musics leading lady never fails to challenge her own boundaries and styles and in so doing, brings the listener a truly unique experience unmatched by any of the competition, past, future and present!

Welcome back Deborah Harry - it's been too long.

Main reasons to buy: Jen Jen, Deep End, Whiteout & Needless to Say - 100% Fantastic

Summary: Buy, Perservere and most of all, Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Complete Rocking Brilliance......., 23 Feb. 2004
This review is from: Save Yourself (Audio CD)
Well, this is it - the best album of 2004. What already I hear you say? Don't take my word for it - get an earful of this fantastic debut for yourself. An album of quality, well crafted powerful songs all delivered in a style that's uniquely Speedway - the harmonious, beautiful voice of Jill Jackson combined with the immense wall of sound created by the brilliant guitar, bass and drum playing. If you've seen them live this CD helps re-live the moment (if you've not, you'll get the idea - they kick it!).If you like the first two singles, get prepared to go further with this - it's a 50 minute excursion to true melodic rock, Speedway deserve to be BIG, so get prepared for a trip in the fastlane.....go get it, play it loud and ENJOY.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Surprising - Totally Excellent, 5 Nov. 2003
This review is from: In Your Own Time (Audio CD)
This album has to be one of the biggest surprises of 2003 - it is a masterpiece. I liked the indie sound of Green Man 6 years ago, but the listener was left wondering how much of the music reflected the substance of the musician? 6 years later we're presented with a classic working - supremely written songs, brilliantly delivered by a once boy band member turned well deserving respected and highly credible artist - this is pure excellence. An album of immediately addictive songs that grow and grown on each listen yet intricate enough never to tire of. Mark's voice is stronger, more maturer and his guitar playing matches true rock veterans.
It's hard to define the best track - give it a try and see for yourself. I'm currently nominating "Close to the Edge" for it's powerful lyrics but the whole journey is superb. The first album this year to have made such a "Mark". Class - add it to your collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Intriguing, Eclectic, Eerie Xperience - V. Impressive!!, 16 Oct. 2003
This review is from: The Curse of Blondie (Audio CD)
As usual with any Blondie album - it may take a few listens before you actually realise that this CD is a potential classic. Away from the instant hook of Good Boys, the CD offers a full range of styles that challenge the listener. You'll find deep enchanting sounds, crazy electro-loops, metal guitar and weird lyrics which really make your brain boggle! On the third listen, the whole experience kinda stuck with me and it's not been off the player since. Give it time and you'll love it. Welcome back to one of the most innovative bands in rock. Stand outs are the single, Undone, Golden Rod, Rules for Living, Diamond Bridge & the weirdly captivating, Magic. Njoy it.

Rather than give you a long winded review - my advice is just buy this and see for yourself. It is in two words, Simply Awesome.
On the first few listens you may think the release is rather bland, however persevere and you are in for one of the best albums of 2003 - a masterpiece. Enjoy!
