4.0 out of 5 stars Fast delivery, interesting ball, 31 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Fitness-Mad Reaction Ball (Sports)
I bought this ball to practice catching (for cricket fielding). Aso tha ball has the same weight it is considerably larger and softer. It bounces quite erratic and helps to traun eye-hand coordination. I would buy the smaller one if I would buy it again. Other than that useful trainingst tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent small reading glasses, 21 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The glasses are much smaller thatn what I had expected. they are about 1cm in hight. This makes thenm perfect for reading and easy to look over then for far distance watching. They are stored in a small tume, slightly bigger than a fountain pen. Perfect for transport. Really love them!

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant fountain pen highlighter, 12 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Sure, this is not a product for everyone. A fountain pen to highlight text. If you love to use fountain pens a brilliant way to work through your paperwork.
The Pen has a double broad nib (BB). I have been told a BB nib needs a bit of practice. Well this one dit write perfectly and without problem. Also BB the line is obviously thinner then from a conventional highlighter. As a result, it can highlight normal text. small writing, underline accuratly and it is possible to write comments (which I love to do). For large text two lines are neaded (or underlining).
For me as a fountain pen lover a brilliand solution.

2.0 out of 5 stars Urban photography, 24 July 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I know National Geographic mainly for the stunning Nature photography. I have also seen some brilliant photography and articles about tribes or more urban areas and high tech themes. So I had expected to find some of these brilliant photos in this booklet. This was not the case.

The booklet (it is small) contains mainly photos from urban areas, cities, daily life of people. Mainly the daily life I would say. Some images are clearly brilliant and outstanding but for most of them I had the impression some people had been given a camera and asked to make just a few photos during their day. It seems like a collection of very average images. This is clearly a matter of taste. It is not to my liking.

The print quality is high and good paper was used. The best images are shown in the "look inside". The more chaotic ones are the more common ones in this book. If you like them then this is your booklet.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice book about doodles, 24 July 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The numbers 0 to 42 are used to start a doodle. I had expected thet the number would be a main part of the image. This is not the case. The doodle starts with the number and developes in something completly different where the starting number is only a small part at the boarder line. Clearly not what I had expected.

It is a book to encourage children to just start to draw something and see where it ends. All 43 examples have a clear and detailed step by step instruction and result in a nice little drawing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book to learn about effect of colours, 24 July 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book shows which colours go together and which don't. The paintings are fairly realistic but held in "odd" colour shades. Despite, or better because, of this "odd" and not allways realistic colours, the images make a great impression and look really good. Most examples are held in mainly two colour ranges. for example a whole range of red and green or green and blue. Most of the time the paintings are held in secondary colours.
The colour choice is clearly explained. Some examples demonstrate the effect nicely by coloring the same drawing with the same colours but a different strategy. For example a house in the country side during the day (and night) or the same landscape once in summer (gree/blue) and then in autumn (red/brown).

This is a good book to learn about the impact of colours and colour mixing. The paintings are mostly held in some variation from the real colour in nature wich I personally very much liked.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book about the principles of landscape drawing, 24 July 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great book to learn about the principles of landscape drawing. It demonstrates how to "guide the eye" through the scenery and how to "hold the balance". Very simple and understandable sketches demonstrate the change of mood or the difference between "this image is right" and "there is something wrong". The impact of light and shade is demonstrated excellently or how to paint a landscape during the different times of the day in the different type of light.
Beside the small demonstation sketches are very impressive, full scale examples given.

I absolutly love this book. The only disadvantage in my opinion is, that almost every image is drawn in a rough soft pencil stile as seen on the front cover. I still strongly recommend this book for all those who like to learn how to composite and balance a landscape image.
