The Fifth Fusiliers and its Badges
The Fifth Fusiliers and its Badges
by Denis R. Wood
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Buy for the Serious Military Badge Collector!, 16 Oct. 2014
A specialist book without peer. I bought the first edition and was extremely pleased with it; I thought , to achieve excellence, if the badges depicted were in colour format , along with the mass of detailed descriptions, then the book would stand above all others of the genre. And lo, it has come to pass! Colonel Wood's second edition has surpassed my expectations - it is superb. Added to which, this edition is some eighty pages longer with badges and information that have come to light since publication of the first edition. Colonel Wood has spent a lifetime collecting the badges of the Fighting Fifth and documenting the attendent history and descriptions, resulting in this magnum opus. He should be rightly proud of his achievement. This wonderful book deserves TEN stars! I cannot recommend it highly enough.

A superb specialist book. I have never seen better coloured badge photographs. Mr Machin has obviously done a great deal of research - a real labour of love - and the finished product does him proud. The book is a must for the serious badge collector or enthusiast.

I bought this phone as a result of seeing a magazine ad and am extremely pleased with it. As I'm a complete technophobe it is ideal as I only want to make and receive calls. Highly recommended for those like me, it's not for those who need all the modern sophisticated androids, apps, etc, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mine of information, 3 Feb. 2014

This specialist book proved to exceed my expectations as there is a great deal of detail 'extra' to the main thrust of the book. Great for constant "dipping into".

This is yet another fantastic offering from this author. The amount of detail is unbelievable . Not a volume to read from start to finish but one to dip into - one item leading to another and before you know it a great deal of time has passed!. A superb work giving endless hours of reading pleasure.

Overall an amusing look at a service in which I served for 36 years. Sometimes the author tries a touch too hard to be funny

I read good reviews of this grammar guide and find it extremely good value for money. I like the author's dry wit and style.
