5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome product, 15 May 2016
Loved it! I wasn't really sure what to expect as my hair is pretty thin and oils can be heavy but this oil is so light and smells amazing! you can really see the difference between this and brands with harsh chemicals. Definitely a keeper.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice start, 9 Oct. 2011
This book is not essential nor will you learn anything important from it that you could not, with a bit of searching, read on the internet. However, having said that, if you've never been backpacking and are thinking of going it's a lovely inspiring read and more importantly positive. After trawling through websites highlighting the dangers of travel and reading bad reviews of hostels you've considered staying at you can be forgiven for feeling more than a little apprehensive about your travels. This book deals with some of the problems you could encounter in a level headed none panic inducing way.
Yes if you've been travelling or are reading it while backpacking you'll probably find it pointless and obvious. It's really a read for a novice who has dreams of travelling but doesn't really know where to start and has absolutely no idea what to expect. It's by no means a complete guide there's plenty it doesn't cover but there'll be one or two things in it you never thought of.

If I had one criticism it would be the chapter "International Relations". Specifically the sections on "How to talk to Strangers", unless you've never met anyone new before, I'm pretty sure you now how to introduce yourself and make conversation whether you've been backpacking or not. The section on "Dating" was a bit strange too it kind of makes the assumption every backpacker is a bit desperate.

Overall a great read for someone uninitiated to backpacking but pointless for anyone who has travelled before.

2.0 out of 5 stars The season that killed the dream, 1 Mar. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Tribe - Season 4 [DVD] (DVD)
The end of season 3 had so much promise however season 4 it totally lost its way. Right from the start having most of your well loved cast disappear is one thing, inevitable really when working with teenagers/young adult actors eager to move on with their lives and do different things, but bringing in new bad characters that seem to come from a different program completely is a bad move.
Through season 1-3 you could almost imagine yourself in the mallrats world fighting for survival trying to make the most of the few life skills you have. Trying to learn new ones from each other and from books you may find. Trying to protect your friends, find food and all while still growing up.
Don't get me wrong there was plenty of room for suspension of disbelief for example the invisible supply of make-up hair dye and funky clothes which seem to wash themselves but it was never detrimental to the storyline and made "The Tribe" the unique program it was.
Season 4 totally ruined this with the introduction of the technos. A tribe of technologically advanced kids who seem to come from another futuristic world one that just didn't make sense in the world of the mallrats. When I look back I believe they were trying to carve a niche in the sci-fi market since around this time there were many articles about "The Tribe" in sci-fi magazines and websites but this was really its down fall. I think they were hoping to grow from a kids program to a more young adult market so they could explore more controversial "adult" topics with an ever aging cast and they believed fitting into a sci-fi genre was the way to do this. It was not.
Laser gun, virtual reality, computers controlling everything and people being "deleted" just didn't fit it was sooooo wrong. If I was one of the Mallrats I would have just left the city for good and forgot about the mall.
They should have done one of two things if their cast was too old or quitting. Either one start again from the beginning with a new tribe in a new setting or two made a separate program for older viewers called it something slightly different and covered the issues they couldn't otherwise that.
Watching this then watching series one makes me so angry they ruined such a good formula and that I believe is why the program eventually got cancelled.
If you're a big fan of "The Tribe" buy it just for the collection (although by now you probably already have) if not stick to the first 3 seasons and pretend that was it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Should have been better, 12 Feb. 2011
This review is from: Wanted [DVD] (DVD)
Plot holes, giant, giant plot holes! On the surface this looks a good film the action and pace are entertaing. The acting is good. However scratch the surface and look a bit deeper and some parts just don't make sense however much you want them to. Plus bits which really need explaining more just aren't for example the bit about the monks and the loom. It should have stayed closer to the comic book series, as by trying to make it too different the writers seemed to have confused themselves and any members of the audience trying to follow the story rather than just gawking at Jolie and enjoying the action. Jolie's also can't seem to make up her mind whether her hair is pulled up or left down as at time this changes between shots; bad continuality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little book, 12 Feb. 2011
For anyone with an interest in writing this is a really nice book to use when a bit of inspiration is needed. It's really easy to use with a different task/idea on each page to be opened and attempted at random. Unlike trying to use the internet where you can get easily distracted it keeps you on task. The only problem is the shape makes it a little hard to read but if it was any bigger it wouldn't be so easy to carry around so it's a fair trade.

3.0 out of 5 stars Watchable, 12 Feb. 2011
This review is from: Love Actually [DVD] [2003] (DVD)
I disliked this film when I first went to watch it at the cinema, but having watched it a few more times I'm growing to like it a bit more.
It does what it says on the tin. It's your average British rom-com predictable and feel good as ever. It explores (for want of a better word) different stages and forms of love.
The main problem I found was it was that it tried to involve far too many characters. It was hard to remember who was who at times. It would be ok for a TV series but for a film there was just too many to allow time for character development. After watching it a few times it much easy to remember the characters and all their different slightly intermingled stories which is why it's growing on me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the most depressing film in the world, 12 Feb. 2011
This review is from: Cast Away [DVD] [2001] (DVD)
I have nothing against depressing films in general they just have to have some kind of light in them something to hold on to.

This film is frustratingly depressing. There is nothing in this film to hold on to its about an extremely unlike able man "Chuck" who is obsessed with his dull, depressing job which is slowly driving him away from his long term partner. The plane he's on while working over Christmas crashes and he, the only survivor, gets washed up on a desert island. He spends the next 4 plus years eating coconuts, contemplating suicide, removing his teeth with an ice skate, and talking to a volleyball called Wilson who has a face made of Chuck's own blood. Finally he decides to try and escape on a raft he built. Doing so he looses his volleyball friend and breaks his raft. I won't spoil the ending but it doesn't get any better even though really it should. There is nothing good is this film from start to finish no glimmer of hope. He doesn't even have a happier past to look back on with sadness and longing. It just rolls on hitting you with one bad thing after another.
This film and the "Terminal" have made me dislike Tom Hanks greatly I now avoid watching anything he's in (except "Road to Perdition" and "Toy Story")

5.0 out of 5 stars Paris Hilton Good at acting? True Story!, 29 Jan. 2011
Perhaps this is not the best way to start a review for a film I have just given 5 stars but I know a lot of people who dislike this film, and I can see why they would, but I love it.
Its as trashy as they come but thats what makes it so great. To try and take it seriously is the first mistake people seem to make. Many films of this style seem to be trying to make somekind of point whether philosophical or artist and therefore people mistakingly look for something challenging when they watch "Repo! The Genetic Opera" and when they don't find anything convincing they dimiss it as a bad film. Its not a bad film at all. Its entertainment the plot is interesting, the songs are catchy, it visual style is amusing and the acting is suprisingly good. I didn't think it would ever happen but Paris Hilton is actually really, really good. Maybe its because she's basically playing herself in a black wig but its worth watching just to see her performance.
Its a film I can watch again and again and still enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars beautiful movie but, 9 Nov. 2010
Let me first say there is really no doubt that Avatar is a beautiful film. It has a sweet story and a nice moral. I enjoyed it but I think it is very overrated and wouldn't buy it until it goes down to a more reasonable price. I'm also not sure how well it will translate from 3D on the big screen to 2D on my average tv.

Watching it is a bit like watching someone playing a video game. The graphics at the moment state of the art will no doubt age very quickly and watching this film in 10 years will be a very different experience unless they decide to update the cgi like a video game. The storyline is a bit dodgy, the passage of time isn't portrayed that well as relationships grow and change without this really being shown much like a video game. After watching it for 20 minutes you can easily predict the ending again like a video game.

The reason for it success is in my opinion due to its difference from other recent big films and its prefect timing considering the need for escapism in times of economic crisis.
It's a nice film and I would watch it again just not until the price has gone down.

1.0 out of 5 stars This film is so bad, 19 Aug. 2010
This review is from: Epic Movie [DVD] [2007] (DVD)
I don't mind Scary Movie type films I wouldn't choose to go and watch them myself but I have friends who love them. So I end up going along to the cinema to watch such movies with them. And to be honest I quite like Scary Movie it has some really funny moments I could easily watch it again.

Epic Movie, however, is actually the worst film I have ever seen in my whole life and I include in that the films students in my A-level Media Studies class used to make. It's the only film I have considered walking out of and demanding my money back.

Not a single moment of it was funny in any sense of the word, unless you have some sick masochistic sense of humour where you enjoy subjecting yourself to a badly written piece of trash. None of the actors seemed to have done more than blankly read their own lines out in a sudo-funny style. They seemed to have no idea what was going on in the plot or why they were dressed in costumes from other films, nor did anyone else involved in the production. Nobody evolved in the making of the film appears to have any love for it. It was made to fill a gap in the market without any real thought. Someone was hired to write it told what film references to include, told to add some random surreal bits. Then when they handed in what they thought was their first rough draft they were told that would do and it was used in the final film.

Don't watch this!!!! unless someone actually pays you to do so, and if they do make sure your getting at least £5.80 an hour.
