Excellent accessory for my Land Rover, the largest duck with a hole cut in the bottom is the perfect cover for the ball hitch being brightly coloured so you see it and don't bang your shin, soft if you stupidly don't look down and cheaper than the proper ones. And it looks better and is funny.

The Temples of Albion: An Exploration of the Purpose behind Stone Circles
The Temples of Albion: An Exploration of the Purpose behind Stone Circles

This is an extraordinary follow up to Stonehenge Unhinged The Wheel of the Sun. It provides a tour of stone circles where the author brings his knowledge, and apposite quotes, to both describe the circles but also to argue his theory of their numerical application in the construction of calenders.
I'm not completely convinced but am not quite sure why not. Maybe I have read it too quickly when otherwise distracted, maybe I need a printed copy I can scribble in. But I really enjoyed reading it,and will continue to return to it both to absorb the atmosphere of the places he brings to life but also to tease out the argument and further consider it.
Anyone interested in Stonehenge and other ancient stone circles should have it on their bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Practical Guide and Intriguing Theory, 22 Sept. 2013
To be honest I was a little worried when I was asked to review this book as I'm firmly on the practical and scientific side of Stonehenge explanations and I hear daily far too many way out theories that need no extra publicity.

So I was really pleased to find this book is a very practical one. The overview of Stonehenge is great and covers everything a general reader needs. It is written in a very easy style to read and the illustrations are numerous and helpful.

Of course they have a theory about Stonehenge to share. I really admire the way they build up the theory from the data clearly signposting their deductions and separating out speculation from them.

I can really recommend that you read the book. It is worth for the general Stonehenge description alone, but their theories of how it may have been used as a calender and predictor are worth considering and should be studied by any student of the stones.

Unattractive cover doesn't invite you into a quite short story. Didn't really hit the spot either as a story or as an understanding of aspergers for us.

A well printed huge collection of stories which my daughter absolutely loves. The cover is quite soft for such a large book and is going to fail but then it is getting many hours of wear. She wears out hardbacks as well.

Great boots, very comfortable but no longer waterproof after one winter of only moderate use. Damp toes aren't warm toes when your outside in the rain so I've ditched them and bought a more expensive pair of boots for this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Concise and accessible guide to the man and his ideas., 10 Oct. 2012
Hayek and his ideas are still largely unknown even though they have been hugely influential in modern western economies. The average broadsheet reader could probably give a vague definition of Keynsian theory, "spend a bit more on public works when times are tough, build up a reserve when the economy is booming," but would not know where to start with Hayek. Well this is where to start. Whether you think he was right or wrong you should read it to get a broad background understanding. The only warning is that if you have a belief that he is wrong or irrelevant you might start thinking, and thinking that maybe he has the answer. But take the risk, it is an enjoyable read as well as being educational.
