Invitation to a Former Girlfriend's Wedding: A novella of life-changing servings
Invitation to a Former Girlfriend's Wedding: A novella of life-changing servings
Price: £0.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Humorous and Engaging, 22 April 2015
This book is humorous, engaging and has a surprise ending. Great read, as always with Fred Schafer's books. The story line is about a man's goal to lose weight in preparation to go to his former girlfriend's wedding and have sex with her one more time. Fun premise that worked very well. As a bonus, there are several good pieces of advice on how to lose weight and live a healthier life that every person should seriously consider. Highly recommended.

Gurl-Posse Kidnap (Sonoma Knight Book 2)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Summer Reading - Easy and Fun, 26 April 2014
Gurl-Posse is a delightful quick read. I fell in love with Jake from the very beginning. He is the hero every woman wants to have in her life. Molly, 19-years-old and the very spoiled granddaughter of a wealthy dowager, impetuously jumps into the deep end of a very dangerous lake rather than tip-toe around the edges where she would have been safer. Jake who has been hired to protect her is challenged both personally and professionally. I’m looking forward to the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely blend of humor and observance of human frailties, 8 Mar. 2014
Fred Schafer is a wonderful storyteller and never disappoints. This delightful book captures the highs and lows, plus everything in between of a young man's experience while travelling with his new wife through India and Sri Lanka for six months and then, finally settling in Australia. It is a combination travel log, personal journal, observations of emotional conflicts that result when you spend time in a culture vastly different than your own, and a sweet love story. The author caught my interest from the first page and held it through to the end. It is an easy read and very enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great mystery, unpredictable and philosophical, 10 July 2013
Fred Schafer has done it again. If you have seen the movie "Midnight in Paris" and enjoyed it, there is a very good chance that you will also enjoy "The 92-Year-Old Lady Who Made Me Steal A Dead Man's Car". The story is totally different, but the idea behind the story is similar. This novel is a mix of classic literature, literary fiction, crime, and philosophy all embedded in unpredictable mystery. This is a great book which would make a great movie. I loved it. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, Educational, and Delightfully Fun, 14 Jun. 2013
My granddaughter loves to play hide-and-seek. When I am tired of playing it with her, we switch to this book. The colorful pictures and the interaction keep her going for quite a while. If you have a child who is bright and loves a challenge, this is a good choice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story - held my interest from beginning to end!, 4 Nov. 2012
Clever story line involving two couples - all flawed, but likable characters. It took some very unexpected turns which added to the enjoyment. When I look forward to reading more, I know it is a good plot - and that was the case with this book. If you enjoy thrillers, this is one you will want to pick up and read soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very informative! Well worth the read!, 1 Nov. 2012
Since I was a complete novice to the world of raw food diets, this book was very helpful - a great introduction. For people like me who will probably never go on a pure raw food diet, it provides solid information and some great ideas about how to incorporate more raw foods into my regular diet - and all the reasons that I should do so.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pathway of hope for anyone struggling with a debilitating disease!, 23 Oct. 2012
This beautifully written book about the butterfly effect of Meniere's disease could be a powerful guide for anyone suffering from a debilitating disease. He begins with the first flutter of the butterfly wings - the diagnosis and then takes you through its effects on every aspect of a person's life - the individual (mentally and physically); partner, family, friends; profession; financials, lifestyle - and just living day to day. But he doesn't stop there - he offers steps that can be taken to prevent some of the disastrous results. The book is filled with promise and provides a "pathway of hope through the Meniere's Disease. It is the kind of book that should be read and re-read, then referenced often in order to incorporate the valuable lessons within.

After having lived an amazingly healthy life for 70 years, I was suddenly struck with a heart condition that terrified and immobilized me for many months - until I learned to manage and live with it. Everything the author writes about in this book would have been incredibly valuable to me during those dark, early days. Since my condition is also incurable, I now have a guide to help me take back control of my life - when the condition rears its ugly head and threatens immobility once again!

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever, fast-moving and fascinating!, 22 Oct. 2012
This well-written book about the virtual world is exciting and a little scary - niggling at the back of my mind as I read was the question "What if this kind of thing becomes a reality?" Is it possible . . . only the future will tell, but the author has a great imagination and tells the story beautifully.
