This is a very good solution for those trying to cover annoying patches where hair is starting to disappear into the ether and scalp is becoming ever more apparent. I've tried a number of these different fibre types over the past few years and my conclusions come out as this:

NANOGEN: Quite fine powder, and reasonably expensive, but not great on coverage (quite a lot needed to cover, especially if hair as gone from the area, as powder sticks to existing follicles). Colour seems darker than that stated on pack e.g. medium brown more like a very dark brown, which can look obvious. Lasts well overall (approx 6 weeks with regular use).

TOPPIK (this product): Around the same price point as Nanogen, but better on coverage, and colour more natural. Again lasts approx 6 weeks.

SUPERMILLIONS: Slightly cheaper than both of the above, colour is okay, and coverage is very good. However powder is heavier than the others listed and seems to 'cling' to the scalp in clumps, which can be very obvious close up.

I think in terms of coverage and natural colour, Toppik is probably my personal hair fibre of choice. A final tip is that you probably need to use a light hairspray or the fibre hold spray to ensure the powder sticks better and doesn't blow / wash away too easily.

Felt these didn't have any effect and were a waste of time and money. However Holland and Barrett's seem to be quite effective, if a little bit more expensive - but sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Fantastic headphones, and well worth the money. Excellent sound quality and comfortable. Lead not as long as I thought but bought an extension jack for a couple of pounds on Amazon so no big deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars David Bowie Is...Dazzling!, 16 July 2013

This review is from: David Bowie Is (Hardcover)
After visiting the exhibition at the V&A I really wanted to buy this at the time, but two things stopped me. The first thing is the weight - this is a heavy, heavy book to be carting round busy streets. The second thing was the equally hefty price, which was much more expensive than Amazon.

Anyway, all that aside, I can guarantee that this is a fantastic book, and a must-have for any true Bowiephile. Many things that are in the exhibition are listed - from the rare photos and scrawled lyrics to many of the classic songs, to a large well illustrated section on all the costumes. The latter here is especially welcome, as anyone who's been round the gallery knows that due to the volume of people milling about, and the fact that it's difficult to get too close the costumes. The pictures here are amazing and zoom right in on all the details. There is an extensive text throughout, but this is really more of an ultra-stylish coffee table book. It's well worth going for the hardback edition, which is much more impressive than the paperback.

As someone who has a huge library of Bowie reading material I thought I had just about every book worth having, but this blew me away.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful, 12 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Exit Ghost (Paperback)
After hearing so much about Roth I thought it was about time I gave him a try. However I wish I hadn't bothered. The first third of this book seemed promising, but it then padded around in a mish-mash mess, full of pretentious pointless imaginary 'exchanges' between the main character and his female obsession, and a story that petered out into thin air. Add on a eulogy at the end for a character who wasn't even in the narrative and you have a waste of time on your hands. Cannot believe some of the people giving it 4 and 5 stars on here. Avoid.
