5.0 out of 5 stars Top Quality Watch for a Fashion Brand Price, 29 July 2010
As someone who works with high-end luxury brand watches, I have quite high standards for quality, and this watch easily matches them.

Sporty, modern, unique - the carbon fibre dial catches the light beautifully, and the red contrasts of the chronograph hand and dial text really sets it off. The strap is a driver's style leather strap with a tang buckle - the quality is good, and even from brand new, it's incredibly comfortable. Again, the red contrast stitching contributes to the sporty feel

You certainly get plenty of bang for buck here. It measures up at 38mm - slightly smaller than most chronographs, but it wears brilliantly on the wrist, definitely a summer watch. A carbon fibre dial is a nice touch, and it comes with a sapphire crystal as well. With regards to the movement, it's a quartz chronograph with date and 1/10 second counter - in combination with the tachymetre scale, it can be used well as a racing stopwatch. With Tissot being part of the Swatch group, you can be assured of the quality as well. The water resistance is, however, a slightly disappointing 50m, and the watch does not have a screw-down crown. Probably not recommended for swimming

If you want an inexpensive but high quality watch, this comes highly recommended. This punches far above its weight, you won't be disappointed. Stay clear of soulless fashion brands, and get a watch with a bit of pedigree and attention to detail

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent, but flawed, 8 July 2010
This review is from: 2010 FIFA World Cup (Video Game)
I recently decided to upgrade to a 120GB Elite, and the bundled game with it was this - I've always enjoyed a decent football game, flitting between the Pro Evo and Fifa franchises. First impressions were pretty good - the graphics are sumptuous, the atmosphere is great, and little touches like cut scenes to fans, or showing your manager's reactions do help to bring the excitement of the world cup to the comfort of your front room.

However there are some niggles - there do seem to be bizarre bugs, which make absolutely no sense at all. Take, for example, the Captain your Country mode. Gameplay is great fun, but the ranking system is unpredictable at best, and idiotic at worst. Go into a match as rank 4 on the team, put in a 9.5 man of the match performance, and you drop down to 14th in the rankings. Crazy! There have also been a couple of weird bugs when it comes to cut scenes: for example, "Gerrard's injured!" He's gone down on the pitch, he's coming up as injured on the team screen. So why does it then cut to Wayne Rooney sitting on the sideline screaming? Things like this annoy me - it feels like they've rushed this game out, that they couldn't be bothered to sort out the little details.

If you want something to entertain you for the world cup, this will do the job - you'll get a good few hours of play out of it. But I can't see myself touching it again after the world cup is over, and I'm just glad I didn't fork out £40 for it like some establishments are charging for it. My advice: get Fifa 10 instead, you'll be less disappointed

4.0 out of 5 stars A decent watch, but not quite perfect, 1 Jun. 2010
For all intents and purposes, this watch is a good looking sports watch - the design comes from a Rolex Submariner 16613, and gold and this particular shade of blue always goes well together. You get the usual high level of quality from Rotary - a solid feeling bracelet, and a reliable Swiss quartz movement. There are, however, a couple of niggles for me - firstly, the rotating bezel. I find this particularly stiff, and not the easiest to adjust whilst on the wrist: not great when it's arguably the watch's most important feature. Secondly, the clasp is a butterfly-style affair which, whilst functional, is not what I expect from a bona fide sports watch - a foldover clasp with a lock would be more appropriate.

If you want a good value watch, but aren't that fussed about the practical aspects, then this could well be the watch for you

5.0 out of 5 stars Great looking, great value, 14 Jun. 2009
Rotary have finally launched a credible sports range, and once I saw this model, I knew that I had to buy it. Packed with features (chronograph function, date, 24 hour hand, slide rule), boldly styled and good looking, this watch is phenomenal value for money, especially if you can get a decent amount of discount off RRP. The watch feels substantial without being heavy, and sits well on the wrist - the leather strap feels durable, and the buckle is reassuringly chunky. If you're looking at spending £100 on a watch, you should really consider this model.
