5.0 out of 5 stars Still love it after about 10 viewings, 22 Jan. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The opening song on this, Tear Stained Letter completely blows me away every time....and the rest of the dvd is just as riveting. If you are at all interested in Richard Thompson and his music, owning this dvd is mandatory...Oh yeah the extras are fantastic too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Still love it..., 22 Jan. 2009

This was the first Young album I heard, it is a classic, but not as great as After The Goldrush or Everybody Knows, as it does have a couple of slightly weaker tracks....But it also has some stone cold Shakey classics (Heart of Gold, Old Man...). So get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius, 22 Jan. 2009
Leadbelly was one of the greatest who inspired Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and Kurt Cobain. This CD has some of the best stuff on it...Not a bad place to start. I like in particular If It Wasn't For Dicky which was re-made as Kisses Sweeter Than Wine by The Weavers..... Recently Curtis Whitefinger re-made it with new lyrics on his album Drunk For A Penny Dead For A Pound. Check it out: If It Wasn't For Dicky

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent...., 28 Dec. 2004
This review is from: Smile (Audio CD)
Looking at the other reviews on this page I was astounded to see people not giving this 5 stars and some saying that its disjointed!....This is a beautiful, moving, flowing collection of songs....I say ignore all the negative comments about this and just let the music wash over you. It sounds like it fell straight out of heaven into your ears.....By the time the glorious new version of 'Good Vibrations' comes on at the end you'll have a massive grin all over your face which surely is the point of it all? Mission accomplished!
