5.0 out of 5 stars bomb proof, 20 Aug. 2008
reliable mid arbour, hard to beat at the price, had one for several years and it never let me down, spare spools are about £25 and spare parts are backed up with superb customer service, the cage allows instant spool changes without fiddling with line, good drag and nice click.

5.0 out of 5 stars part of fishing kit, 16 Aug. 2008
the most comprehensive guide to scotlands lochs ever published, buy only latest published because things do change, information such as size of fish to expect or when to fish is remarkably accurate, part of fishing kit rather than a book.

1.0 out of 5 stars mis named, 16 Aug. 2008
chapter 1 - 'Todays Decline' starts off - 'the extent of the disaster that has been allowed to ruin etc'
the book takes you on a whistle stop tour of scotland stopping at notable salmon and sea trout lochs but its not a guide, more reflective and discriptive with inspiring photography, the author puts a case for intervention to increase salmon and sea trout numbers but appears more concerned with having more to catch than a true compassion for the dwindling species.

4.0 out of 5 stars scholar fodder, 3 Sept. 2007
this book is detailed, if your working on a dissertation or report this is possibly the most thorough and up to date book on the subject, however, casual bedtime reading this is not, unless your a serious bookworm or have read all the other books on the subject and still hunger for more...this is the more.

5.0 out of 5 stars if you buy only one book on casting it should be this one., 18 Aug. 2007
being possibly the lowest priced book on the subject out there, the contents come as a bit of a surprise, for beginners its thorough, for intermediates there is extra detail and it goes further, much more than the same old mechanical instruction, one of the few books or dvd's that actually does help in practice.
up there with joan wulf's, superb book.
