Fascinating, Intriguing, Inspiring.........................., 17 Nov. 2004
Peter Richards' Wineries with Style is a beautifully crafted piece of literature befitting of its intriguing subject matter. Peter explores a fascinating angle on the Wine industry as he takes the reader on an architectural and cultural journey of Wineries Around The World. From Santiago to Stuttgart and Vancouver to Vienna the reader is treated to an insight into some 80 wineries across 6 continents.
Having read the book and admired the pictures on numerous occassions i defy anyone not to be enchanted by the people and places that the author has visited.
The wineries that Peter highlights offer a huge amount of historical, cultural, architectural and of course wine interest. Fortunately, the book allows the reader to access all of this information without having any prior expertise in any of the above fields. However, there has clearly been a great deal of research into the various subject matters giving the book a depth of information for those who want it.
Alternatively for the more lighthearted reader there are hundreds of fantastic photographs and handy tips of wine that can be enjoyed at a glance.
All in all i thoroughly recommend the book to anyone and everyone - every worthwhile bookshelf, coffee table, desk and library should have a copy. Cheers Peter.
