This is one of the best unknown rock albums . If you dont believe me then just listen to it....It has real drama.. I have never heard anything like it.. and when you hear it you will understand.. and yes it does sound Japanese although why some have said otherwise I just don't understand. It has this wild and yet understated feel to it.
Tell me what you think..

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Tull Album of All, 27 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: A Passion Play (Audio CD)
This has to be the most underrated Tull album of all time.It is darker and more brooding than TAAB but no less memorable for it...I don't even find it particularly inaccessible; and as for "weird" well I can think of dozens of albums that are more so; VDGG for example..

So buy it now!

Right I am going to get straight to the point.
Just ignore all the total twaddle talked/written about this album. I have loved it for over 30 years..It has greatness and more to the point some fantastic tracks.Just listen to it and make your own mind up. Do not follow the crowd. And remember..Sabbath had to do something different: you can't just churn out the same stuff year on year..

This album is good. The middle part is very very good: ie tracks from Crazy Nights and Spellbound which are two albums that really need re-releasing as they are as good as any NWOBHM albums. The tracks from the first and fourth albums are not that good- with the notable exception of Love Potion Number 9.
At their best this band really were at the top of the HM tree: I suppose they were never as good pre and post John Sykes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Gem, 14 Mar. 2011

Ok so this is not one of the greatest rock albums of all time..but it's good and certainly one of the most underrated/overlooked.Budgie were always a slightly neglected band..even in ther 70s heyday and never had the commercial success that they deserved. This is probably one of the better albums that came out of the NWOBHM period- the track I Turned to Stone should really be included on their Greatest hits album as its up there with their best work. What I really like about this album is that is completely unpretentious down to earth rock music. The production is very good too.

This is one of those albums that slips under the radar. My favourite tracks are Cherry Red , Groundhog and Split Part 2. The sound is harsh, metallic and raw, music with an edge to it.. definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of 70s rock.

I don't claim to be a huge fan of BGH and have only head 1 or 2 of their albums. That said I have no doubt that this is up there with the best albums of the 70s.The production is superb and all the tracks are memorable. It's the quality of the songwriting that stands out..I would certainly be surprised to hear that they made a better studio album.

This is quite simply one of the best live rock albums of all time. The re-mastering is excellent and really captures the atmosphere in the theatre- you could almost be there in the audience if you close your eyes. All the best Skynyrd tracks are here..and I think most are better than the studio versions.
If you are new to this band then I would recommend you start here...

This is an excellent album from one of the best live bands in history.
Having seen BOC many years ago I was aware of how good they were on stage. This CD shows them at the peak of their game: Astronomy is the stand out track here:I think its their best and deserves more air play than it gets. For all rock fans who are only familiar with Don't Fear the Reaper...check this album out.
My only slight gripe is that many of the tracks appear on On Your Feet..otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

This is an excellent novel from a highly neglected author..Angus Wilson has fallen out of fashion in recent years but those who take the plunge are in for a treat..up there with best 20th century British writers.
