5.0 out of 5 stars One of America's 20th century masters, 15 Aug. 2000
A great book that presents the vitality of Diebenkorn's best work. This book includes plates of all major phases of his oeuvre. While not a great admirer of his Ocean Park series, his expressionist Berkeley series and his figurative paintings and drawings are really stunning! He was a great colorist and a painter's painter. I would consider this book to be a must-have for any student of 20th century art...

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have, 21 Feb. 2000
This review is from: The Pearl (Audio CD)
This is a *great* CD for relaxation! I have listened to other ambient/new age CDs and they sound artificial and unnatural. Not so this wonderful album. The production is texturally rich and alive and ambient. Listening to The Pearl while doing any activity greatly enhances the experience and creates a calm sense of well-being...
I wish I could find another album like it.

St.Agnes' Stand
St.Agnes' Stand

Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars A great western with more..., 11 Feb. 2000
This review is from: St.Agnes' Stand (Paperback)
This book is characterized by really tightly written prose that richly evokes the texture of existence in the desert Southwest. I could readily picture the quality of light and rock in each scene, as Eidson captures it all so easily with his simple, fluid style.
Here is a book ostensibly about how a cowboy gets stuck trying to save a group of nuns and some children, that deals with issues of God, faith, life, death and a clash of cultures.
If you liked this book and its themes and style, you might also like to read Brian Moore - an author with a similar spare and easy style as Thomas Eidson's...
Write on Thomas Eidson!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!, 26 Jan. 2000
I first bought this book when it published; 13 years later the quotes it contains still bring tears to my eyes! If youare ever in need of pithy quote, then look no further!
