3.0 out of 5 stars Nice but not helpful for us., 13 Feb. 2015

A nice simple story but once you've read it, you've read it. My daughter was unimpressed - the message did not resonate enough.

Not a particularly helpful book. Examples of work projects seem incomplete and lack clarity or depth.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best and most sensible parenting book yet., 2 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you feel you want to parent with compassion and find the idea of a naughty step or ignoring your child traumatic, this is the book for you. The advice is common sense and kind, yet evidence based on sound psychological research so isn't at all vague or wishy washy! Cannot rate it highly enough. The author is an American clinical psychologist and also has a very accessible website - google Aha! Parenting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab book for imaginative children!, 2 Dec. 2013

We've really enjoyed this book. Unlike many books today it's not aimed at one particular gender, which makes a nice change. Loved the adventures that the pixies got up to and it has been a story that the children have looked forward to hearing before bed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent books for kids who love adventure!, 6 Sept. 2013
If your children love stories with great characters and high drama, then they will love these books. We've read them as a family at night and also given them as birthday presents and they were a big hit all round.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great read for junior school readers!, 6 Sept. 2013
My son, aged 10, has thoroughly enjoyed reading these books before bed and the stories have really captured his imagination and developed his reading. The adventures are great and my daughter, hearing her brother and I talk about the stories, has just picked the first story up too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book. A thoughtful and balanced way to discipline children., 30 Mar. 2010
This is an excellent book if you are the type of parent who aims to reduce confrontation with your children whilst still wanting to maintain some kind of order in the parenting chaos! This book has enabled me to get a sense of perspective on the difficulties faced by parents of toddlers and to feel more confident in my parenting knowing I have the skills and belief in myself and my children to face whatever the day brings up. This is more than just a parenting book, I think it appeals to a particular philosophy in the views and beliefs you have about the way you want to interact with your children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable and fun! Lovely story and pictures. Magical., 30 Mar. 2010
I loved reading the Mitch and Titch books to my children, they seemed spellbound and have been asking me about what they might be up to ever since! Nice to have the option to read books that hark back to a more innocent time and to read for the joy of the story. Would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, a must read for all parents, 27 Feb. 2008
I am a clinical psychologist myself and frequently recommend this book to families at work. It is easy to read, straightforward but most importantly addresses both the 'what to do' aspects of parenting and also the 'why are we struggling with this'. Parents are encouraged to think about themselves in their parenting and how impossible it is to parent without taking account of our own beliefs, emotions and histories. Easily the best parenting book available.
