One of the greatest cricket writers on one of the greatest cricketers it couldn't fail. It is a study of Warne the cricketer and Warne the man and a brilliant one. However it is not a biography.

Kept you on the edge of your seat from the moment you opened the book. Some mysteries were easy to guess. But you still wanted to know how it ended for Luke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, 9 Jan. 2014

I went to 63 of the 67 games that season and I can safely say every time I read this book it takes me back to the best football year of my life. It is good to see that the way you see things are seen that way by other people. Reading the book is just like living THAT season again.

Addictive and passes the time. Challenging as well. Welcome relief from ashes humiliation. Smash sixes all over the show. Would be better if you could bowl though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not an insight to the England dressing room, 24 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Most interesting parts are the building of the England team under his captaincy and the insight into him quitting and the KP affair. Unfortunately Strauss doesn't give away dressing room secrets which makes for a bland book. Having said that I like Strauss and respect why he hasn't.

2.0 out of 5 stars The action only starts at the end to keep you hooked, 4 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Disappointed with this book it meandered going nowhere and not addressing old cliff hangers and some characters disappeared all together. Then just when you are bored a few plot twists are thrown in that will of course make me buy the next book.

A Dance With Dragons: Part 1 Dreams and Dust (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 5)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best of the series, 29 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The geographical split did not work and I found myself reading for the sake of getting to the next book, lacked the twists, turns and drama of other books and had I not invested time in the series previously I may not have stuck with it

A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 4)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the other books, 3 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This didn't grab me as the other books have. I felt it meandered at times perhaps due to it being part of a book split in two. Having said that the two cliffhangers at the end have left me wanting more.

A Storm of Swords: Part 2 Blood and Gold (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 3)
A Storm of Swords: Part 2 Blood and Gold (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 3)

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, unexpected turns, 23 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Brilliant! Unexpected twists and turns (although you could guess some) will keep you hooked. Best book in the series so far. Only bit of the saga so far was the end of clash of kings although that was fast paced rather than with twists and turns.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, 16 May 2013

Not quite as good as a clash of kings or game of thrones, it lacked the action of clash of kings and the intrigue of game of thrones. This maybe because it is only half a book. However as I have previously invested in the characters I still enjoyed it.
