1.0 out of 5 stars Can't recommend., 29 Nov. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First thing I noticed on unpacking was it has slightly misaligned jaws. Not an issue for me and litter picking but may be a problem picking up very small/slim items. Second thing to notice is that the jaw closing mechanism is quite stiff to operate - not an issue for myself but again may be of concern to someone choosing this for an elderly relative/friend. More importantly for myself though, it broke within 2 weeks (internal string/wire snapped). Can't recommend.

Does not do what it is manufactured to do which is to protect the phone. This offers minimal protection and case does not protect camera lens on rear (it will be rubbing on the surface you put the phone down on). Basically a hard, thin plastic case (isn't that what the phone has anyway!) with no soft buffers or raised protection for lenses. Top of the range Smartphones are not cheap and deserve some proper protection. Do yourself a favour, don't be suckered by cute pictures, and put protection at the top of your 'must have' list.

Not the most powerful of all the heat guns but wins in the value stakes. Have owned much more expensive guns too but they all burn out after approx the same usage.

Way too thick to apply reasonably and flatly. Subsequently told by builder that any oil based paint would suffice to keep stains at bay and he was right. Gave up on trying to apply this to wall and applied some oil based undercoat instead. Much, much easier to roll/brush on and just as effective at keeping the dreaded stains at bay. Brush or roller, this stuff is nigh on impossible to get flat.

1.0 out of 5 stars Absoulte rubbish., 2 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Way too tight, even without tape. Combine the tightness with a very flimsy structure, that simply doesn't allow you to push it on with any conviction, and you end up with a torn rubber base trying to twist on. Really disappointed as my son loves the Arsenal but this was a bit of a "Stoke away" moment. I think I'll learn my lesson and go buy a proper putter grip.

Great indoor/outdoor hoodie. No logo which, for me, is ideal. Perhaps too thick to be worn under a sleeved jacket but ideal for a padded gilet and even better for lounging in some sweatpants. Washes well and looks good. Recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Simply awful, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'll give this one star because it's not pink. As for the technology it's simply awful. It will work for a few hours (random amounts of time) before dropping the connection to the router. This may manifest itself with a red light or a green light. You reset and it works again....for a while. I have tried everything from setting as static IP to blacklisting various other devices. It does not conflict with any other device in the house and it still drops connection...randomly. Unreliable (I had to send one back for replacement after it went phutt) and not fit for purpose. I will be buying another brand. You have been warned.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Mouse that Roars, 11 Dec. 2012
Firstly the Steelseries Sensei mouse isn't cheap, but you know that because you're here. What you want to know is: Is It worth the ££££ of your hard earned cash?
Here's a few thoughts after several months of ownership:

I'm a leftie (yes I know I should carry a bell) so my choices are slightly limited... but it's worth noting that this mouse is ambidextrous. It is also, imho, a thing of beauty. It feels right, looks right and ...eh...is right.

It can be configured to the n'th degree, if you run the Steelseries engine although it performs really nicely even if you don't. This review is based on someone who uses the engine.

Mouse includes 7 configurable buttons, more than enough dcpi configuration to make even the most extreme gamer happy, storable on-board profiles (move the mouse to any computer) and a 'quick switch' button on the mouse that allows you to change from everyday use to extreme movement madman in the click of a button. I personally don't game that much - no that's a lie - I do game but not the high octane stuff - so I don't use the switch ....ever. But it's there if you need it or want it.

The mouse is LED backlit, with configurable colours too, so looks good of an evening sitting next to a glass of rouge.
It performs well on most surfaces but benefits from a clean plain mouse mat. If you like your Simpsons title scene mouse mat, go buy a cheap mouse.
It weighs the perfect amount. Light and airy it isn't. Cumbersome and immobile it isn't. It has a smooth surface (in mock silver) coupled with rubber-esc sides for grip.

Performance is excellent. It takes a bit of setting up to get your x and y speeds configured, but once you're there it'll soon become a best friend.

In summary, if you're looking to spend £50+ on a mouse, this is the mouse. I have it alongside a Steelseries Shift keyboard (also reviewed) but there is no contest as far as desktop equipment goes - the mouse gets to come to a desert island with me...lucky lucky mouse.

5 Star mouse that is only let down by 3 star driver software.

SteelSeries Shift Gaming Keyboard with Interchangeable Keyset (PC)
SteelSeries Shift Gaming Keyboard with Interchangeable Keyset (PC)

3.0 out of 5 stars Steelseries Shift Keyboard., 10 Dec. 2012
The good:

Concept: Removable keypad allows for a change in physical keypad to a purpose built gaming keypad (there are a few only) or, in my case, allows for easy cleaning of nom dribble.

Weight: Nice solid feel, doesn't float around the desktop as you type whereas some keyboards react as if you're tickling their feet as you type.

Media and custom key: You can program this for ....eh....anything. I use the media keys a lot and couldn't go back to a keyboard without them. The configurable macro keys are a boon. Usernames, passwords (not that you would (cough)), email addresses, your home address etc. etc. A really great idea.

The bad:

Whilst the keyboard base is made to survive, the keypad feels cheap. It isn't nice to type on regardless of other reviews. Keys closer to joins in the keyboard are spongier than others. It isn't consistent. This should be obvious I guess, it is a removable, and foldable, keypad. It can not be as solid as eh....a solid keypad.

Space bar is split which fights with your instincts to begin with.

The ugly:

Driver software: You need the driver software otherwise functions (custom macros and even the shift key) simply don't work. So the software is bullet proof right?....wrong....it is without doubt the worst piece of driver software I've encountered. It won't load on certain days/moon cycles, it doesn't always recognise the keypad (Note: I have the Sensei mouse too, a brilliant mouse btw, which may add to the chances of the driver software failing.) and it is prone to crashing. Crashing for driver software shouldn't be acceptable.

Summary:

I'll keep the Steelseries mouse (Sensei) and move the keyboard (Shift) on to my daughter - she's 11 and starting to take an interest in pop culture and boys so reconnecting this keyboard constantly will keep her otherwise occupied for a while.
