1.0 out of 5 stars Not a proper audio CD; won't play on my computer or in my car, 30 Sept. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 1984 (Audio CD)
Great album in theory, but despite no mention of it in the description this is an HDCD rather than a regular audio CD. Despite claims of backwards-compatibility from Microsoft it will not play on my computer or in my car CD player at all, so I can't listen to it. No sound; the disk drive starts to spin up but then stops - repeat forever.

The container they came in was a bit flimsy so I transferred them into a different one. I'm not sure what kind of 'steel' these are made from because even with a decently sized N52 neodymium magnet (that can lift ~10 kilos) only about half of the nuts and bolts would stay stuck to it.

The head sheared off two of the bolts when I tried to tighten them (by hand).

2.0 out of 5 stars Live viewing is OK, but the framerate drops in the dark and RTSP server is very buggy, 26 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The live-viewing functionality seems OK, but I had problems recording and viewing via the RTSP server (rtsp://cameraip:10554/udp/av0_0 etc). The framerate drops from 25 fps to ~15 fps in the dark, so when saving to a file (via, say, ffmpeg) the resulting video is sped up. There's also a 4 second delay between connecting to the RTSP server - for viewing or recording - and getting any footage. I spent several hours trying different settings before concluding that the problem was the camera and not my software setup (later confirmed using another, much cheaper camera of similar spec from Sinocam). After the camera had been plugged in for a while (and got quite warm!) the stream would cut out after 8 seconds no-matter what I did.

The configuration via the mobile app is pretty minimal, and the other option is configuration from a Windows PC, via Internet Explorer as it uses an ActiveX control. Even Microsoft have said that ActiveX is a legacy technology, and their Internet Explorer replacement will not support it. The options that are available in the configuration are pretty limited too.

Returned the camera and bought a Sinocam of the same spec for £35 instead.

The cream inside had gone sour by the time it arrived. Quite an expensive way to get some cheese that had to be chucked out straight away.

2.0 out of 5 stars The holes don't really line up, 10 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered these for my 2003 Cooper / R50 so I could fit some cheapy Halfords-special speakers after one of my OEMs died.

There's two sets of holes on these adapters, one set for the speaker and one set for the door - neither lined up properly. I had to put the speaker screws in at an angle and bend the lugs on the speakers to get the speaker fitted into the adaptor. I could only get three of the door screws in (the fourth hole just wouldn't line up), but I had to carve out some plastic to get even that far as there isn't enough clearance for the OEM screws (i.e. the ones that held the original speakers in).

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good value; less tangles!, 23 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Generally speaking, a USB cable is just the same as any other USB cable; *but*: these are well priced compared to many others. The fabric covering really seems to help them not snag on things and get tangled quite so easily. The micro side of the cable fits into my phone charging socket very firmly and doesn't wiggle like the previous no-brand cable did. The 2 meter ones I ordered are a great length for still being able to use my phone while it's charging too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music, not so great packaging, 23 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Spaces (Audio CD)
The CD itself is fantastic; beautiful, immersive music - the piano mixed with the occasional synth-type sounds works very well. The recording provides a good mix of live atmosphere and sound quality that you don't always get on live albums. Five stars for the music.

The CD didn't come in a jewel case, but rather a folded cardboard sleeve. It might sound daft but that means it won't sit in my CD rack properly and has to sit on top - all alone, looking untidy. Three stars for the packaging.

EDIT: Some people seem unhappy with my 4 stars total due to the packaging, so I've changed to 5 stars. Personally I think if you're buying a physical copy of something (i.e. instead of a download) then the physical aspects of the item should be considered as well as the digital content.
