Mastering Web Application Development with AngularJS
Mastering Web Application Development with AngularJS
by Pawel Kozlowski
Edition: Paperback
Price: £27.15

2.0 out of 5 stars Unfocused, poorly explained, full of errors., 16 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very poor examples. Examples are best when they are clear and conscise, these are long and poorly structured, actually not structured. Just ramblings, especially early on. The ideas it covers all seem like good ideas, but the worst thing about it are the very manny grammatical errors.
It is clearly cut and paste, and or created with speech to text software that doesn't understand the speaker's accent. Then proof read by you after you have paid for it! Sentances sometimes have two endings have two different ways of ending. Even the code has bits missing, and a couple of times I found errors that actually inverted the meaning of the sentance.
You might as well just read stuff people put on blogs or YouTube.

Git Pocket Guide
Git Pocket Guide

Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.34

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect pocket guide., 16 Nov. 2015

This review is from: Git Pocket Guide (Paperback)
Excellent. Good explinations, and structured around tasks you will need to do, rather than around git's commands per se. This was a bit off-putting at first, but once I got used to git this book came into its own. Perfect as a pocket guide.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless. Misleading. Waffle., 16 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is not really about Learning AngularJS. It is a collection of poorly explained examples with very little actual content, lots of long unhelpful code 'examples', and lots of stuff about other things only related to Angular, such as pages of css and html, oh and how to use Netbeans IDE. It also has some fundimental mistakes, although they may just be the author's focus not being on Angular itself but on the particular 'example' they are waffling on about.
It is too sparse for someone wanting to learn Angular, and too simplistic for someone wanting to develope a real Angular application.
Useless. Misleading.

3.0 out of 5 stars A complete disappointment for me, 22 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Play the samples before you buy, because this music is almost entierly Western/European in the style of Bach and others.
A couple of the tracks start with 'Oriental' forms, but these quickly give way to traditional Western forms.
A complete disappointment for me, but my fault for not checking. The Quality is fine.

Snark Super Tight All Instrument Tuner - Black
Snark Super Tight All Instrument Tuner - Black
Price: £10.68

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 3 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Works really well. Acurate and consistent. Fast enough to keep up with, say, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at a normal tempo, but nothing faster.

If you are just using it to tune an instrument then it is perfect, but the mic doesn't react well to whistling or singing, if you are trying to track down a note.

Ideal for instruments which can be slurred, eg trumpet, to practice accurate note holding.

Visual metronome can be set by tapping the beat on the device.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a serious solution to cold feet, 3 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Don't bother, spend the money on thick socks.

Although they do contain down, it is so thin and compacted that it has little effect, and the cut at the heel is so low that they leave your ankles cold. The foot bed is just a piece of thin foam and is useless on cold ground, and they are sweat promoting = freezing in any real low temp camp.

If you think they look good, and that is important to you, then you probably don't care if they work.

However, I would recommend them to clowns and children's party entertainers. For everyone else, buy socks instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really impressive, 28 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've got several Snugpak items. They are all really impressive, no nonsense, effective, and a really good price.
Nothing is perfect and personal preferences will play a part, but this, and the other items, are at least as good as anything I've seen by other manufacturers, and usually half the price. Don't think that the low price means low performance.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing special, 28 Feb. 2013

Nothing special, they are reasonably well made, but they have a very shallow heel cup, awkward laces, and a really stupid name.

This is a real master-piece. Extremely well written, full of subtlety, emminantly plausible, something to be savoured and reread.
The thrill comes from well constructed drama, with a firm basis in human nature, and certainly no improbabe twist-at-the-end.
The characters don't just act to push the plot forward, with set-pieces that you might expect, such as where one character explains something to another simply for the reader's benefit. Here the characters do what people do, and the reader is the observer putting the pieces together. Nothing superfluous, nothing improbable, and no coincidences.
Apart from this I also recommend The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, and Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy.
