2.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable hardware, let down by a truly terrible interface., 3 Jan. 2014

The core features on this player are really solid! Good sound for the price, good storage and solid construction.

So why the low score?

There are a number of school-boy errors in the interface design. Real beginner's mistakes. Whoever designed the UI must have known what an MP3 player was in theory but never really used one.

The number one flaw is the lack of a "lock" switch, or software feature. Which means you need to carry the player very carefully or you'll end up accidentally switching tracks, turning it off, or booting one of the games.

Secondly, the player buttons are mapped un-intuitively to menu-navigation and music selection, and the largest peace of 'keyboard' real-estate is dedicated to a button which is used only rarely. This is just wrong.

Finally, it's full of gimicky features. Someone thought "how can we make it look as impressive as possible?" and then leaned on their software team to implement a bunch of useless rubbish they could list on the box. But in the end it just takes up menu/code space and you'll never use it.

You should not buy this player if you want to carry it in a pocket whilst listening (the missing lock feature). I made the mistake of buying this instead of the Creative player at the same price range, because I didn't want to bother with working around the low volume issue. I'm now regretting it.

3.0 out of 5 stars m for meh, 5 Dec. 2013

I love the concept for this anime, but after that it just goes down hill. With the blatant over use of the same 3d models, cliff hangers that are glossed over in the next episode and horribly cheap plot devices, it's obvious that whoever had c (control) had no b (budget) for either animators or writers.

It's a pity, I can see where this could have been excellent, but after the third time c for control sets up an enthralling scenario and then completely ruins it all I felt was frustration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent but beware: !!!CHARGER IS NOT INCLUDED!!!, 17 Oct. 2013

Opened the box today and extremely impressed with the quality of the product. It's everything my ten year old self dreamed of and my twenty year old self can finally afford.

Just beware that you need to include the charger separately in your order. I'm relieved I've got a prime membership so I'm not going to be stuck waiting for a week to play with my new toy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Abolutely amazingly original and addictive, but...., 19 Feb. 2004
I haven't played this much, but i have to say that what I've played so far is amazing, loading i cool and smooth, the gameplay is brilliant, and the batle system is original, but surprisingly does not overexagerate. The one feature I have come to despise is the D-counter, a timer that counts down as you go through the game, and when you use certain powerful attacks, when it reaches 100 the game is OVER. Thankfully there is a system ("SOL") which allows you to restart games with some experience and items from last games, although this hardly merits replaying time and time again as is needed. My advice- go for it, but be prepared to do some serous replaying.
