5.0 out of 5 stars Ultraviolet is AMAZING!, 21 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Ultraviolet (Paperback)
Ultraviolet starts like it's title offers:
Starting to build up the plot, the tension and the words and going out with a BANG!

I thought this book was something different from the Y.A genre which is market-crazy at
the moment! It really intrigues the reader into wanting to know and that is the beauty
of this book, wanting to know what's happening, what's going on and the truth behind it

Ultraviolet follows a teenage girl waking up in a mental institute and wondering how she
got there. Then she remembers...

She killed a girl...

Or did she?

This book was everything i wanted in a perfctly good read and i recomend it to all you vampire/
fantasy.sci-fi crazies out there who just want, simply, a.good.book!

5.0 out of 5 stars When the going get's good!, 16 Oct. 2011
How can i start reviewing this book?

Beautifully written as a greek mythology novel with romance and danger woven in perfectly by author Aimee Carter, who i will be reading more books after this hopefully!

The novel follows 18 year old Katherine Winters returning to her dying mother's hometown for her to spend her last time there. However, when there, Katherine, or Kate as she calls herself, stumbles along dark and tortured Henry, the owner of Eden Manor not far from where they are staying.

Henry claims to be Hades, ruler of the underworld, and grants Kate a bargain. He will keep her mother alive for the time being as she attempts to pass 7 tests.

If she passes? She will become Henry's wife and a goddess.
If she fails? She will never see her mother again...

and she will die!

3.0 out of 5 stars I'm indecisive, i can't decide......, 28 Sept. 2011
Logical Review first:

This book was interesting and in a light-hearted manner, kept the attention of the reader. It ahd adventure, twists and a sexy male lead, who changes his sex-appeal everytime through shape-shifting! It led up to a almost-tied up ending that will hopefully lead onto another book by author Kiersten White, who, as far as debut novels go, this wasn't bad at all, not bad at all.

My review (without holding back opinions)

I really didn't like the main charecter Evie. I thought her vain, selfish and over-girly (If that's a word at all). I hated how in the book, something severe happened to her and instead of being upset, she just obsessed over the guy and thought about prom and a big poofy pink dress! It portrayed her as this over-american girly-girl but she can put up a damn fight all right! I felt her charecter was over-mixed with an almost double personality in my opinion. She has a pink sparkly named taser for god's sake!

4.0 out of 5 stars Once it was going, the going got good!, 28 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Starcrossed (Paperback)
There are so many young adult novels out tehre, with more debut authors making their mark everyday on the market that it takes a brilliant writer to be original.

Starcrossed had that originality that readers are hunting for i believe. It has everything needed for the means of a beautifully written and rememberable book. It has heart-stopping romance, charecters to make you laugh, cry and hate so imaginatively and most of all, a good ending.

For me, Starcrossed was a brilliant read and as a sucker for YA novels, this book quenched my book-hungry reading material for a day or two. I loved all the charecters and loved the Greek-mythology storyline and it was well weaved into the book, creating, hopefully, sub-plots and anticipation for the next book.

Summary: A well-written, thought-through, made-in-heaven, juicy reading material for hungry twi-hard or vampire fans or werewolves fans or.....You get my point!

2.0 out of 5 stars Dark heart forever....dies in boredom:(, 20 Sept. 2011
This book had SO much potention to be AMAZING!
The whole set-up of the book was rather good and you could tell the author
knew what he was writing about but for me, it wasn't good.

I jus didn't like it. Recalling it now, i can barely remember the names of the
main characters. The plot itself was okay but the book had no originality in it
or no surprises or dark twists that make you gasp and hit your head sitting up!

So, for me, this book was very average but then again, if your a basic reader out there
who has never picked a book up before then i suggest you go for it! xoxo

3.0 out of 5 stars Good plotline, slightly boring., 20 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Firelight (Paperback)
Firelight follows Jacinda and her life as a drakai (dragon renamed!)

As Jacinda is the only fire-breathing dragon for years, the pack are trying to
domenate her life, choosing who she marries and how she will have kids and when.

So, Jacinda's mum and human sister drive away from the camp one night when everyone
is asleep and start a new life, normal high school and normal people.
There she meets gorgeous broody Will, who she soon recognises as a drakai hunter who
almost caught her when she was flying one time.

With their relationship growing stronger, will she keep the secrets? And fall in love with
a killer of her kind?

I thought this book was pretty average to be honest. I am not slagging it off or saying it was
unbearable to read, just that i have read a lot better than this. The characters were basic and
kind of obvious and the plotline was pretty see-through too.

However, all that aside, the book was easy-reading and a good starter book for teens in the non-fiction/
supernatural/paranormal genre:)

4.0 out of 5 stars Unearthly, more like - OUT OF THIS WORLD!, 20 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Unearthly (Paperback)
This book follows Clara, part angel, and her journey of discovery on what her 'purpose' in life is.
Every angelblood has a purpose, whether it be saving someone or delivering a message to a deceased
loved one.

When clara recieves her purpose through a dream of a wood on fire and a beautiful boy standing in the
middle of the forest. When she, her mother, and brother pack their bags and move to where they've traced
down Clara's dream to, they never saw it coming.

Enter Christian, the gorgeous popular boy from her new school, and the dream guy, literally.
Enter Tucker, her new friend's sarcastic cowboy brother who irritates Clara, but to what end?

Unearthly was a great read, recomend for 12 or 13+ and is an easy enjoyable read for teen readers who
enjoy the genre of the supernatural.

An easy 4-star song! Probably a 4 and 1/2 star even but not quite a 5 star for me!
This song celebrates the good side of drinking and a nice tune to a catchy song that,
trust me, WILL be stuck in your head with its easy to remember lyrics and the amazing
Artist Rihanna, doesn't let you down!
