A New Dawn in Deer Isle

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, 8 Jun. 2017

A road trip that doesn't really get going with all the right things happening at the start. Gets a bit tedious towards the end. The author could have made this a really good story but for me, the drama is not there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyed this story, 6 Jun. 2017

Although there are injustices described in this story the central theme of the rare Lady's Slipper plant holds the story together. The characters are intricate and changing, they recognise that misfortunes often lead to opportunity. The quiet contemplation but strength of the Quakers in awful circumstances gives one pause for thought. A really good read.

One of the most boring books I have ever read, plot and relationships tediously obviously. It is almost as if the Viking and Celt connection is window dressing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really moving, 1 May 2017

This story of people who come together through troubles and loves is moving. The threads join together and although there is sadness there is also a real reaching into the hearts and emotions of each. Difficult topics are repeatedly raised in a deeply understanding way and even the horrors are handled with care. A fantastic read with excellent writing style.

What a great story of a picked on fat person who comes out on top amongst fast strong over muscled vampires just using his enhanced brain. Great story, well written and surely the most fabulously described characters.

This story of Kofi and Geraldine is unusual, interesting and thought provoking. It deals with gender but also the human tendency to blame everyone except ourselves. The ending was, I feel a little weak but it is just the ending not the whole story. The characters are a little two dimensional, but I have forgiven that. Some irritating typos which could do with some proofreading so that they are removed. Definitely worth a read if you like sci fi without too much actual science.

Bit of a happy ending, lots of death and destruction, a bit of science (not much), main characters live and the evil get their just desserts. What's not to like.

Two young people with different outlooks come together in tragedy. Very well written, depth of character. If you like tragic love stories then read this.

The main character is interesting mix of anger and caring. His story of dealing with his frustrations by using murder is quite captivating. However the author clearly has no idea of the meaning, usage and spelling of there and their or of passed and past. This silly error always put a pale on the story for me so only three stars.

This story is obviously written by someone who has no grasp of grammar or the English language. It seems to have been written by a child. Don't even try to read it. I couldn't stand the errors so did not finish it.
