5.0 out of 5 stars Everything I hoped for!, 15 Oct. 2010
I opted for this TV over cheaper and larger models as it had won awards for both picture and sound quality. The picture is fantastic and the sound warm and articulate. The other positive was the ease of set up.. it really was intuitive and did all the tuning for you. My one grumble, and it's really not the TV's fault, is that although my virgin + box could tune in and control the channels and volume, it is unresponsive with regards to the mute button.. I just mention this for the benefit of other Virgin customers. So all said and done, although this was a big purchase, it has turned out to be a very happy acquisition and everything I hoped for. A definite recommendation.

4.0 out of 5 stars I trust it with my precious..., 9 Aug. 2010
I looked at a lot of cases for my iPad and read every review I could find... the Tuff-Luv always scored well and looked the part. It costs the same as the Apple case, has the same functionality, is easier to get the iPad in and out of and looks and smells better (because it's real leather!)... cool piece of kit that gives you piece of mind and looks as good as the iPad itself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than your fingers alone!, 9 Aug. 2010
I bought this for use with my iPad and Sketchbook Pro and while it's not the instant Wacom experience you'd like it to be, it is a massive improvement over your fingers for detailed work, definitely worth giving it a go for such a small outlay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another flawless album? Oh and then some!, 10 Mar. 2008
This review is from: This Earthly Spell (Audio CD)
Karine didn't have a tricky second album. "Scribbled in Chalk" managed to eclipse the impact of her debut solo album "Faultlines", and "Fairest Floor" followed that with equal aplomb, so surely "This Earthly Spell" will finally be a passing work, a mediocrity, proof that no artist can be that consistent. No. Not a bit. Here are 10 songs that would shame any first album with its treasure trove of long saved songs, that both hold together in their totality and yet offer everything from political vitriol to maternal love. A number of songs have had airings on You-Tube as rough recordings but now shine all the brighter for the airy backing vocals of Inge Thomson or the clever rhythms of messers Foulds & McGuire and the ever creative and tasty, tasty perfect simplicity of brother Steven.

This is real, visceral, potent, charming, intimate and profoundly beautiful song writing delivered by an Artist and band of genuine talent and ability which will push every emotional and cerebral button and leave you oddly comforted in it's very existence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant but be warned!, 27 Jan. 2008
If you Love Family Guy you'll be happy to pay the extra, but be warned the UK version does not contain the iPod version that's been discussed everywhere online (announced by the guy from FOX at the Apple Expo, he forgot that the US is NOT the whole world and to mention that this would only be available in the states). If you want to watch this on your iPhone/iPod you'll have to buy it all over again (and they say piracy is immoral!).

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good company, 6 Oct. 2005
This review is from: Glad Company (Audio CD)
I bought this album with a sense of adventure, having only heard track one "Trip to Windsor" on various folk radio broadcasts, where Anna Massie had been mentioned as the recipient of the Radio 2 young folk musician of the year. So it was with few preconceptions that I pressed play, having loaded the album to my iPod, and set off on a long journey from Wales to the Highlands of Scotland. What instantly hits you is the maturity and competence of the playing; these three girls are not just good for their age but are just plain good. Secondly that there is both a respect for the tradition they so obviously hail from and a sense of experimentation with a more contemporary aural aesthetic in the rhythms, part writing and arrangement. The few sung songs are delivered with legitimate confidence, though perhaps not yet with ease of your Rusbys, Dillons or Mathesons, and provide another colour palette that adds to the work as a whole.
I suppose a mark of the albums quality is that it played on a loop to well past Preston and was still resurrected once again on the Isle of Skye (the tracks with pipes become all the sweeter when your surrounded by Lochs and heather) where it brought the journey to an end.
Whilst in the Highlands I was lucky enough to see Anna playing live (supporting a traditional dance group) where it quickly became evident that this album is just the beginning of a substantial contribution to the folk and world music scenes. A wonderful album that I would recommend to any lover of acoustic music.
