This review is from: Pharaoh (Kindle Edition)
Easily the worst of Mr Smith's book I have ever read, and I have read them all. Compared to the genius of the early books (Courtneys etc) this seems to have been written by someone else.
So disappointed after so many brilliant books.

one day old used indoors, and the paint is coming off the target already.....grandson is devastated. Need to talk with Savage Island as this is totally unacceptable. If they replace this I will submit another review. Got 2 stars as the bow and arrows are fine.

No one (for me) can capture what it may have been like in 'Uhtreds' time, as good as Mr. Cornwell. As always his stories are full of interest, action and believable (mostly) plots. His characters come to life every time, and this is evidenced by the fact that television has picked them up now.
Like Sharpe, we have a hero who survives everything, sometimes miraculously, but it makes all of his books well worth reading. If you start with book 1 of the series and follow them through, they make a lot more sense, and give a continuity to a good tale.
