5.0 out of 5 stars If you live your sci fi, then grab this and don't put it down, 14 Mar. 2016
I had The Stone Man as an audio book originally. It was superb. I couldn't put it down and I may well get it as a paperback and read it. The story is told first person and we know as much as Andy, and later Paul, and understand it through their experience. Brilliantly written, well crafted British sci fi that takes place in our world, which makes the story scarier as the locations are familiar. The narrator is excellent. He has a range of voices that mean you always know who's talking. If you love your sci fi then grab this, either as an audio book or paper book. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth reading, 13 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent Victorian Thriller, well researched and cleverly done, it carries the reader with it to the end. The characters aren't the usual Victorian drama kind, and it captures the Gothic atmosphere very well. I found it a little difficult at first as its told in the present tense but I soon got used to it. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series

5.0 out of 5 stars wow!, 1 Aug. 2008
This review is from: The End Of Mr. Y (Paperback)
if you only ever read one book in your life read this. It's simply one of the best, most intelligent outstanding unputdownable books I have ever read. It's for those who like intelligent thought provoking literature that doesn't spoonfeed but feeds the appetite. It marries philosophy of identity with quantum physics and manages to make it sound reasonable, sensible and coherent. buy it steal it or borrow it but read it now

5.0 out of 5 stars intelligent and gripping, 7 April 2008
This review is from: Michael Clayton [DVD] (DVD)
While this film may seem slow, it is an intelligent and gripping thriller that unlike many mainstream films refuses to treat its audience as if they were idiots. It builds into an interesting legal drama with a poised and understated performance from Clooney who is always worth watching. Anyone who like their thrillers fast and furious like the Bourne Ultimatum may find this too quiet but stick with it. It's worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars why does it have to be black?, 17 Jan. 2008
This review is from: Zen Stone Armband (Accessory)
This is a really comfortable armband for the gym, the only problem is it's matt black, so my lovely pink stone just looks like a black stone with a pink control. Because it's matt black you can't see if it's on or off without listening to it and you can't see the low battery light. Why not make it in a clear or frosted plastic so that those who want this fabulous Mp3 in a glorious colour can show off their purchase and make all those saddos who've spent a fortune on their iPods zenstone pink, red, yellow or blue with envy. Or better still Creative labs, make it in the matching stone colours! How about that for an idea?

5.0 out of 5 stars the most fun you can have while the kids are at school, 10 Jan. 2008
I had this game for xmas and can't put it down. The wii is the first games system I can play without having to get my 8 yr old to do the hard stuff for me. It's the best thing I ever had for a present and it's what the wii was made for. I know it sounds a bit sad as I'm in my late 40's but wow, if you only get one game for the wii get this one

4.0 out of 5 stars horribly addictive, can i have my life back?, 17 Sept. 2007
This is an easy game to play but is totally addictive. As you play look up occasionally and watch your life go by. It will take you over. Some of the levels are easy(ish) and others hard, but nothing compares with the total satisfaction of getting the last of those little balls into the hole and opening up another level, (despite the fact that it could take you hours to do). This game tests reactions, skill with the stylus and total refusal to give in and do something else. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars looks like nothing else, 18 Jun. 2007
This review is from: Okami (PS2) (Video Game)
okami looks and plays like no other ps2 game. It's simply beautiful and not too fast to play so great if you're not as reactive as you should be. You fight using brushstrokes. There are puzzles as well. The game isn't linear but you move backwards and forwards through different parts depending on what powers you've acquired. If you're bored with the usual violent shoot-em-ups then try this. It has fights, quite a lot in fact but the graphic style doesn't show bloodshed. My 8 yr old loves it as much as I do. If you only buy one good game then this is it

5.0 out of 5 stars good for kids, better for mums!, 22 May 2007
Got this with a DS lite for my son's birthday and now I'll have to get my own 'cos it's totally addictive ( and he's moaning 'cos I won't let him play with his pressie. Much too much fun just to be left with the kids. The mini games are excellent and easy to do, definitely worth getting to while away the time when you should be doing housework, (and much more fun)
