Sony PlayStation DualShock 4 Charging Station (PS4)
Sony PlayStation DualShock 4 Charging Station (PS4)
Offered by Wesley_Vas
Price: £22.40

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor design and overpriced, but makes charging easy., 8 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Outrageously overpriced - it obviously should have been included in the box with the PS4. The design is not particularly clever either - it takes quite a lot of grinding about before the charger's connector engages with the controller. It certainly makes charging easy, but it's a very unimpressive design.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just another movie tie-in, 8 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My son (10) saw the movie and a couple of months afterwards wanted the game for the PS4. But it is just a very poor movie tie-in. He played it for only a day or two, and then it strangely went back on the shelf. He's back on FIFA14, the Lego game forgotten. It might be fun for the 5-8 age range, but nothing more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Getting a bit too formulaic, 4 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's OK, but McNab is clearly running out of steam. So many of the locations in his recent books describe wealthy people, expensive apartments, expensive watches and expensive cars etc., that the Nick Stone character has lost its integrity as the hard-man soldier. And with lengthy sections about his childhood experiences in London, McNab is sounding like an old wealthy writer sipping expensive coffee while he reminisces about his past glories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and value, 4 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very well made; indistinguishable from the real thing. Also very good value, since my local VW dealer wanted £9.something for ONE cap! Nevertheless, it's a shame this seller forces you to buy a pack of four, hence only a 4 star rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great console, hopeless user/account management!, 4 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As a console, the PS4 is very slick and cannot be recommended highly enough. What spoils the whole experience is Sony's absurd User / Account management system. Example: My son is 10, so I don't want him playing GTA, but of course he can play FIFA15. So I setup a 'Sub account' for him, which Sony says is designed for children. This is a very convoluted process itself, which requires you to login in to Sony Entertainment Network on a PC; it cannot be completed on the PS4. There they ask for your child's email address (uh?) and postal address! After jumping through these hoops, you go back to the PS4 and there is no login for him on the homescreen, only your existing master account. After an hour online, I found one reference in a help forum that explains you have to manually setup a new user on the PS4 using the same email address you used to setup the sub-account online. That new user will miraculously (and invisibly) be a sub user, alowing you to control (from your master account) the age rating for activities and games on the PS4. Only then do you discover that you child can no longer access lots of online content because he/she would also need to have their OWN Playstation Plus subscription! In other words, your sub-account [remember: Sony define this specifically as a child under 18] does not inherit your access to PS+ even though you control their account.... you are expected to pay twice! As a final sting in the tail, if you are stupid enough to setup a sub-account, there is currently no way to delete it from SEN, and even when your child reaches 18 the sub-account cannot be promoted to a full user account!

This whole process is a disastrously ill-thought out and ultimately useless user / account system. Sony are also incredibly greedy in expecting every user on your PS4, even your child, to pay again for PS+ access. Furthermore, saved games cannot be transferred between accounts, so even if you give your child a full user account, they will lose any progress they have already made (under your account) and have to start all over again.

As for GTA - it is absolutely staggering! The size of the 'world', the details and the level of interaction are unbelievable. It's just a shame that the bad language has to be *quite* so frequent. If only Rockstar could add a setting to remove the F and N words, which are used several times in every sentence spoken by the characters (and are completely redundant on every occasion) it would make the game a lot more accessible. Children who happen to hear (or play!) the game would think the F and N words are quite normal, which is shame since my daughter (13) loves just driving around the world and finding new things. I have had to ban her from doing the missions where most of the endless stream of bad language is heard.

How sad. Too much filler. Too much over-production interference from others. A few clever words as expected, but I find myself pressing the skip button very frequently. I think Neil is running out of steam.

1.0 out of 5 stars We all know Canon lens hoods are spectacularly bad value for money, 3 Dec. 2014

We all know Canon lens hoods are spectacularly bad value for money... well this has to be the worst of them all (I own three different models). It's flimsy, the squeezy bayonet fitting is very hard to use, and the tiny little plastic tabs that hold it in place look prone to break at any minute. This is a really bad design!

I'd strongly suggest you find an alternative manufacturer's design that either clamps or screws to your UV/Skylight filter. Anything but this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice tunes, and superb use of sub-bass, 20 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Giants (MP3 Download)
This is a strange album of song templates. By that, I mean that none of the tracks seem very developed, even though there are some great tunes, but you can easily imagine any of them being remixed and developed into perfect anthems by somebody else. The best aspect of this album is the bass. Not just big thumping beats, but fantastically low sub bass that is tightly controlled. If you listen on headphones or bookshelf speakers you'll miss most of the action, but played on floorstanders, preferably with a subwoofer too, you can follow the bass notes cleanly right down to the floor and beyond, well into the cone-flapping regions! It is my new reference CD for testing speaker bass reproduction.
