5.0 out of 5 stars A whole new level of understanding, 27 Jun. 2004
Having bought this book along with its sister volume covering books 1-4 I started at the beginning again. Whereas the first volume led me by the hand through books 1 to 4, this guide gave me the range to do the job for myself. I felt that I had been lifted a level in my own ability to interpret the great lady's work. If the first book is A level then this is definately ungergraduate. This book makes you do the thinking for yourself. If you are not an accomplished detective when you pick it up, you will be when you finish it. And you will have a whole new level of understanding across the whole Harry Potter spectrum

4.0 out of 5 stars The WIzarding Worlds Tourist Trail., 11 Jun. 2004
There is a wealth of Harry Potter info out there but this is a lovely addition to it. It reminds me very much of the type of information put out for tourists with a map complete with numbered highlights and an accompanying index with all the information laid out to give maximum information in a concise form. The illustrations are delightful as well. Very useful, I just wish I could go for real. It is a little gem that is worth having just for itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plumbing hidden depths., 5 Mar. 2004
Book analysis was never like this when I was a humble A Level student. Most of the things that I have wondered about are here and a lot of things that have passed me by even though there is a Harry Potter book in my possession at all times. The great lady herself said that each time we re read a book we will find something new and this book does the hard work for us, teasing and tugging at the fabric of the story until it spills its secrets. I really can't write anymore right now. I and ths wonderful book are going to read books 1 to 4 all over again.
