Why read WW2 fiction when there are impressive first hand accounts?
Good Read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dotty old fool that should have gone out with the arc, 26 Nov. 2010
It really made me cringe watching this dotty old fool roaming round Italy pretending to know what he was talking about - which was mainly himself.

When I wasn't cringing I was holding my ribs with laughter at the nonsense he was coming out with - at least he got an all expenses free holiday out of it though, so there must be plenty of people out there daft enough to fall for his act.

1.0 out of 5 stars Irritating presenter...dated 1980s youth television camera work...big let down, 26 Nov. 2010

I took a chance on buying this dvd as I missed the programmes when they were on television. Given that the subject matter includes some fine old buildings, you would think that it would be hard to get this series wrong - but they did.

The presenter is one of the most irritating people ever to present a television programme - he talks like some old spinster from a Victorian novel, and his neurotic hand gestures are irritating in the extreme.

The camara work uses 1980s 'yoof' television techniques of spinning round the Miss Havisham-style presenter, and leave you feeling nauseous.

Like I said, it should have been hard to get this programme wrong - but they did.

Don't waste your time and money.
