Aaaah! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!!!, 22 May 2005
This book is amazing, tense, and perfectly infuriating! There aren't as many witticisms as the last three, but the plot is a completely original style. After The Eternity Code the series was threatening to become a Famous-Five-Style series of loosly connected adventures, but the Opal Deception is completely different. After reading it (which I did non-stop, at breakfast, in bed, whilst brushing my teeth, in break, in music, in art, in the car, behind revision guides, in the bathroom wrapped in a towel as I absent-mindedly squirted anti-frizz serum all over the mirror because I was concentrating on Opal's truffles rather than what I was doing) I have only one thing to say to Colfer:
"You murderer! How could you do that? Didn't you care about all the people who didn't want him to die? You didn't even give Holly a promotion or a cigar to remember him by! Or the satisfaction of managing to do the same to Opal! Aaaaah! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!!!"
Well it was almost one thing!
