Compeed Blister Pack
Compeed Blister Pack

5.0 out of 5 stars I am a convert, 15 July 2013
I have always been of the opinion that a plaster is a plaster and that the only real difference is whether they are fabric or waterproof. Other than that they all essentially do the same thing whether they are round, oblong, patterned or plain. In the past getting a blister meant grabbing any old plaster, maybe cutting it to size and sticking on
Since getting these from compeed i have learnt two key facts
1. When I know that I am going to get a blister on wearing a certain pair of shoes (yes you my favourite blue shoes that always blister my little toe) I can pop a compeed blister plaster to protect the skin and stop the life from forming in the first place. Don't ask me why this thought had not occurred to me beforehand but it hadn't. No more enduring the blister in the first place!
2. When a blister pops up I can use compeed blister plaster to not only protect the rub but to help heal the blister quicker. Truly miraculous!

I am a convert to the right plaster for the job.
These are so handy, reasonably priced and work. My only gripe is I wish someone had told me before

4.0 out of 5 stars Home waxing has moved on, 25 Jun. 2013
I was lucky enough to br sent this to review from veet
The last time I tried a home waxing kit I was about 17 and I remember the agony of having a waxed strip on my leg that I couldn't remove and having to resort to calling my mum for help. So it was with some trepidation that I plugged in my veet easy wax and left it to heat up. I'm happy to report that home waxing has moved in n the last few years. The kit was easy to use and the cartridge meant no fear of spills. Another revelation it works on shorter hairs which is such a godsend. One of my key issues with waxing is that you need to grow stubble first which is never a good look so I was pleased that I could use on short regrowth. The wax once heated went on smoothly and the wax strips to remove we're easy to use and remove. No shouting for family members to help. I did find that the strip didn't take all the wax up but this may have been more down to me than the kit. Overall I would say that this is an easy and value for money kit. Regrowth has been similar to if I had been for a salon wax and with practice I would expect a flawless finish

I've been converted that this is the best way to store garlic. This is a lovely ceramic pot with airholes allowing the garlic to breathe. Can hold a large bulb or a handful of cloves. Garlic stored in this seems to last longer than in a vegetable rack and its so handy to know exactly here your garlic is especially if you have loose cloves. The pot is rustic looking and looks great in my kitchen, taking up hardly any space on the work top. Recommended

Wow - this truly is a great book. It's funny and sad and shocking and brave all at the same time. Neil McKenna has done an amazing job of transporting the reader to Victorian London and the level of detail really makes the tale come alive. At times I could have been in the Strand theatre or sitting in the dock of the court or chatting with Stella and Fanny. The greatest praise though must go to the portrayal of Fanny and Stella who were brought to life so well. At times i laughed out loud with them and at others I hung my head in shame at the various indignities and prejudices they encountered. It's well written, thought provoking and Fanny and Stella's tale will stay with me

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun for everyone, 4 Feb. 2013

I've recently bought this as a gift for my niece and its has gone down a storm. A great range of games are included that appeal to both boys and girls, old and young. At a family party we played our way through athletics, horse jumping, football, trampoling, swimming and synchronised swimming to name but a few. Because there are some many choices its something that will get played again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wearing them to write the review!, 4 Feb. 2013

These are a great find and work very well. The tips of the glove and second finger are coated so you can continue to use touchscreen as you wear them. To prove the point I'm wearing them to write this review and managing very well and if you can read it they must work! It's slightly odd that the tips of the two coated fingers are a different colour to all the other tips but it makes me feel a little sci-fi so I'm happy with that!

Snowing in Bali: The Incredible Inside Account of Bali's Hidden Drug World
Snowing in Bali: The Incredible Inside Account of Bali's Hidden Drug World

5.0 out of 5 stars The underbelly of paradise, 2 Feb. 2013

'To all the holiday makers who think they're going to paradise ........ All isn't as it seems'

So starts Kathryn Bonella's third book in drugs in Bali using her contacts with some of the biggest players in the scene. This is a fascinating insight to the world operating underneath that experienced by the casual tourist. Bonella details how drugs are imported and exported through the island and has unique access to the world of the big dealers and the 'horses' that do their dirty work for them. Whilst her other books focused on those doing time in jail for drug crime this book shows how some stay ahead of imprisonment

With the recent arrest and sentencing of the British foursome for drugs in Bali it is a real eye opener. The risks that people are prepared to take are astounding and Bonella shows what motivates those involved. I found this a truly gripping and frightening exposé. Recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming, 31 Jan. 2013

Molly and Dexters first meeting is orchestrated by a flying fish - one of the many quirky and coincidental elements of this book that bring together a wide range of characters. From the aged actress to the buxom barmaid all have a story to tell and tying them altogether is Molly, Dexters and Delphis story.
I really enjoyed this book - it was so easy to get immersed in the village of Briarwood and its residents and although there is never going to be a big mystery about the ending of the book there were enough twists and turns in the characters that keep it a page turner. Dexters journey is particularly enjoyable as he faces the greatest tragedy in his life and rewrites his future as a result. It's easy to empathise, not only with him, but with those that become part of his life. I found myself hurrying through the pages to reassure myself that things would turn out the way I wanted!
Overall this is a thoroughly enjoyable book - a charming and amusing romantic comedy

Clear recipes, great pictures and calorie counted for you. I really like the fact that they've reinvented some classic recipes with some great tips for cutting the calories. Tried plenty of them and taste definitely has not been compromised. One of those cookbooks that are great for picking up midweek and making quick tasty meals
