Bar Craft Luxe Lounge Stainless Steel Cocktail Jigger, Copper
Bar Craft Luxe Lounge Stainless Steel Cocktail Jigger, Copper

4.0 out of 5 stars Nothing special but it's two steel cups welded together, what more do you need?, 26 July 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Sufficient for measuring and the copper colour is very attractive but it feels a little strange, most likely due to the coating applied that gives it a coppery colour and it's a shame because it doesn't have any sort of a metallic feel to it, other than the slight cold from evaporating alcohol. There isn't a lot of weight to it either and the copper coloured coating scratches off quite easily unless you baby it. You can also see the spot weld marks at the base of each of the cups which is a shame, though I imagine they're very difficult to remove in such thin metal.

Overall though it's perfectly functional for the price and looks really nice, I'm just being particularly picky. For a fiver I'm happy that it does what I want it to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marketing over-hyped an otherwise fantastic candle, 26 July 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Smells very pleasant, there's a subtle hint of fireplace smokiness to it but it's more generally a fresh scent. It sort of smells like when you've just put a candle out, specifically ones that are scented like sea breeze, cotton or fresh clothes. The crackling is very soothing in the evening, though it does rarely have a tendency to 'buzz' for want of a better word which can be a little annoying, though certainly not to the point of having to put the candle out. Surprisingly it doesn't actually give off that much light, most likely to the shape of the flame...

The flame burns very inconsistently, but I feel that's part of the charm. Don't expect a constant, tall flame across the whole wick. It moves and dances and sometimes certain parts of the wick won't seem to be lit at all. This makes the candle fairly dim, and more akin to a log fire that's starting to burn out, with a general low flame with small wisps that pop up now and then. The flame is still pretty, and nice to look at but it's not quite what the marketing would lead you to believe.

Overall it's a very nice candle, the wax melts very quickly and takes around 30-40 minutes to melt across the full width so it doesn't tunnel and flood the wick (unless you only burn it for very short periods, as with any candle) and I've had mine going for a good 15 hours or so now and there's plenty of wax left so I'm optimistic about meeting the 80 hour burn time claim. I very much enjoy burning this over conventional candles due to the crackling and the hearthwick certainly makes for an unusual and attractive flame, just not as spectacular as it claims to be. Far superior to a Yankee candle, though I've only ever had one, and much nicer than general pillar candles as a treat.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little wallet for keeping things simple, 19 July 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: BASICS Men's Slim Wallet (Shoes)
It's very small, and the way it works takes a little getting used to compared with my old wallet but I much prefer it. It holds cards and notes securely and they're easy to remove.
Design wise whilst I like the colours and use of different materials I can't help but feel like the end with the exposed corners of the cards looks a little messy, particularly as the wallet gets significantly thinner at that end. It makes it look more like a make-shift card holder than a durable wallet. And it's not messy in terms of finish, there are no loose threads or frayed corners or anything, it just doesn't look right.
I carry four cards and notes in it and it's a snug fit with the cards being easy to remove. I tried getting another in but things get a bit too tight, so if you need to carry loads around with you then this might not be suitable.
All that aside, for a simple, colourful wallet this thing is great. Much nicer than some generic leather thing.

2.0 out of 5 stars At least they're cheap, but it's still £20 I won't get back, 6 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordinarily you can forgive a product as cheap as this for having some flaws because it's supposed to be frugal. And I'm certainly one for giving up needlessly fancy extras in favour of a functional, frugal alternative. But unfortunately these headphones are very much cheap, not frugal.

Build quality is awful, it's made out of thin bendy plastic covered in mould lines and burrs. The colour is pretty nice, though they're covered in gaudy logos and stupid marketing spiel.
Folding mechanism is very useful, they fold up nice and small and it's very easy.
They're huge, I can't tilt my head down when I have them around my neck, and they look very ungainly, I don't really want to wear them outside.
They're pretty comfy as they basically weigh nothing and the padding on the headband and ear cups is pretty good.
The buttons feel horrible, they're tacky chrome plastic and they respond with a feeble, hollow click. They're also in a weird position.
The voice that speaks to you is awful without being comically awful, it's just bad.
Battery seems excellent, I've not had to charge them yet. But that's probably because I rarely want to use them.

Sound quality is fine when you get the EQ sorted (hold volume up, press volume down and then let go to change), but otherwise it's atrocious. The bass just obliterates everything else. Even if you just want bass it's mushy and muddy. On the plus side you can then go to any crappy pair of headphones you have and be amazed at how incredible everything sounds in comparison. I compared these with the Koss Porta-Pros, which are sort of the same price but wired. Those also have overly-powerful bass and fold away very small, but they hold the sound together a little bit better. They're still not great but they're fine for this price point. These headphones are not fine. It's a shame as the bass does seem to go very deep and the treble does have a bit of definition to it, but it just can't keep it all together. Alright, maybe if you're only interested in bass and you're massively into electronica they're not bad but they just scoop out all the mids, the bass leaches over... I can summarise by saying I never reach for these, I will go and find a better pair of headphones rather than use these.

I'd maybe be happy if they came free with a laptop or something but they're definitely a pair you'd want to replace as soon as possible. I've not tried the sound wired as there are plenty of better wired options out there that are much cheaper. Plus the sound leaks like nothing else, everyone else will be able to hear your awful taste in crappy drum and bass.

And finally the real killer: they have a flashing blue light that you can't turn off or mask because it shines through the cheap plastic casing. This is seriously distracting and I really can't understand why anyone decided it was a good idea. We need to know if the headphones are on yeah but this is an excellent case of how not to do this.
In short, look elsewhere. Maybe they're alright for listening to podcasts and stuff but that's it, they make music sound worse. But hey, at least they do what I expected them to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably is actually invincible, 21 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this for my parent's dog Dewey two years ago and it's somehow survived. He's a border terrier and normally very destructive with the toys he's given but he's really fond of this snake, and it's muscled through the abuse and is still going strong. It's great fun to pull the snake along by it's tail and have him chase around after it. He also seems to love chewing on it, though he's never managed to do any serious damage. It's not too big and can be rolled up fairly easily if you need to stash it away somewhere.

All in all, a fun and durable product that should survive much longer than your average squeakie toys!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good When it Works..., 5 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
When it works it's very good, the mo feature works really well and it picks up basically everything you throw at it. Emptying the tank is also very easy, and the fact that it goes back and recharges itself is great. It's very fast, though you can slow it down if you want which is particularly useful at times. I love being able to control it too, you can direct it to a particular spot if you've dropped something.

That said, when it doesn't work it is frustrating. I only have a small flat, and though the doors aren't huge, I'd say there's ample room to move. But because this guy is so wide he is a bit hesitant to move between rooms, something neither of my other robot cleaners ever had an issue with. I thought this was the cause of a recurring issue he has where he can't get back to his charging station, but it turns out he's just awful at navigation. Even when he's in front of the station he'll sometimes ignore it and wander around aimlessly until he dies. And then his clock resets and all his settings go.

Also, he doesn't quite get into the corners the way that one of my older, cheaper robots did, though he does much better than my last one. He's not as short as my first one either, so he can't go under tables, but I have this great thing called a dustpan & brush for those areas, you should try one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Sure How You Could Improve It, 5 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A mate of mine saw this and instantly said he has to have one. It's a really cool little case. Feels nice, looks good and fits my Acer Chromebook 13 perfectly with padding thick enough to prevent scratches and dents but not so thick that it's bulky. It's not going to protect from a fall or anything but I think it's more designed for you to slot your laptop in when you stick it in a bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Better Than Its Original Predecessor, 5 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I love Yongnuo flashes, though my original Yongnuo YN560 conked out on me after a while, refusing to consistently fire. We'll see whether this one stands up, but so far I'm very impressed. I photographed a friends wedding with it recently and every frame was very consistently lit colour and exposure wise. Using it in conjunction with the YN560-TX trigger was easy as anything, very reliable and easy to control.

It comes with a good case and a standIt feels light and plasticky but it doesn't feel ovlerly cheap which is reassuring. All movements are accomplished with a satisfying thunk, and the buttons have a very positive click to them. The interface is fast and although it takes a second to get your head around it (particularly coming from the original YN560 which basically had three lights to tell you everything), it's very intuitive and fast once you're up and running.

If you've got the wireless trigger I'd just go for the MkIII rather than this to save a bit of cash. Not sure why I bought this one to be fair but either way you'll be sorted. I'm loving manual flash control, and I rarely ever use my TTL flash now!

It's also light and looks the ticket too.

It's just a USB charger, and not a particularly rapid one at that, but it's discrete enough and points downwards which is convenient.

Was expecting fireworks or some sort of automated light show feature at the very least.
