4.0 out of 5 stars Not cheap but a Godsend, 26 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Together with a strong brush, this device makes light work of even the most grimy chains (MTB or road bike) in the cold and wet of Winter. Very pleased with it because it saves me so much time and effort. At £20 it isn't cheap but it works very well and I will buy more of these until something even better comes along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for me and cheaper than buying from Apple, 26 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
RAM is a commodity item and there are a few well-known manufacturers supplying all the well-known computer manufacturers. Apple are no exception in this regard. Therefore it is perfectly ok to take a 3rd-party RAM upgrade and insert into your Mac, provided you carefully follow the instructions.

With this RAM from Crucial I upgraded a brand-new MacMini Apple Mac Mini (Quad-Core i7 2.3GHz Processor, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, 1TB, HD Graphics, Launched Oct 2012). Took a few minutes to do and worked first time. It is cheaper to do this than upgrading the RAM at the time of buying the computer, and the savings are even more if you sell the original memory.

Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Simple, neat, versatile, but does not last long, 26 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I don't like lots of cables lying around. This product allows the main cable to be retracted, and has the three most commonly used connectors combined into one unit (Apple 30-pin, Apple Lightning, Micro-USB). Haven't found a competitor to it yet. It is simple, neat, very useful and cost-effective. I have two of them.

This is the second Daffodil* product I have bought and I have been delighted with both of them.

*I also own this: Daffodil WMS500W 2.4GHz Nano Wireless Mouse with Easily Adjustable DPI, powered by 2xAAA Batteries (Included) - White

**UPDATE** Stopped working very soon. I traced the problem to a bad connection between the microUSB and Lightning connectors. Seems that the microUSB plug itself was damaged. Avoid this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent at cleaning bicycle chains, 26 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I use mine for cleaning my bicycle chains (together with a cleaning agent, e.g. Muc Off chain cleaner). In cold weather and after wet rides, the grime on the chain is usually difficult to remove. This brush makes easy work of it. It is very quick and effective at cleaning grime from the outside of chains, and the spacing of its bristles makes it very easy to insert into the inside of several chain links at once. Am very pleased with it and it saves me huge amount of time in scrubbing. Also useful for cleaning chain rings and cassettes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well made, versatile, snug, can spoil your photos, 17 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Material feels well made. The magnetic catch is consistent. The case looks nice. It also doubles as a stand (by putting the phone on its side and folding the case at an angle to the phone). One other advantage compared to some cases is that use of headphones is possible. Some cases have a big gap between the hole and the phone's headphone socket, which can prevent your headphones being plugged in to the phone when in the case.

The only downside I have found so far is that the hole for the camera is not quite wide enough (I have a 5s), so the one of the corners of the photo has some of the case showing. If you take lots of photos with your phone, this could be annoying. Be prepared to crop your images. Instead, I made the hole bigger in the problematic corner by melting it back with a soldering iron.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good quality for the money, 17 Jan. 2014

Supple and professional-looking material, very protective and snug, strong velcro strap and good quality stitching all round. All for not much more than a main course meal in a pub.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well with my Mac., 30 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I backed up some personal files onto these disks, using my Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display and my Samsung USB Blu-Ray drive. It was faster than I expected (took about 30mins to fill each disk). I had only one writing failure, but I was able to recover the disk using Disk Utility (one of the Apple apps bundled with OS-X). So to summarise these disks work well for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice idea for a product. Very innovative and space-saving, 28 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We use ours in the kitchen, where we have an old SIM-less iPhone 3Gs used as a VOIP phone (we have a Sipgate landline number). The battery on the iPhone is well past its sell-by date, and the VOIP app is constantly on (and is power-hungry) so the phone needs to be charged often. It is best left on charge all the time, so this neat little adapter is its home. Easy to assemble and get going. One minor complaint: the dock is not specific to any particular iPhone so it doesn't fit the 3GS snugly, which means it isn't the most physically stable combination of devices (so care must be taken when placing the phone onto the adapter). Still, it works well enough and for the money it is a fine product. If the electrical contact lasts a few months without showing signs of wear of instability then I will increase my rating to 5*.

5.0 out of 5 stars utter bargain, 25 Nov. 2013
About this review, note that I work in the consumer-electronics industry. I take part in the development of products similar to the WD Play. These products do not compete with the WD Play, so please consider my review to be unbiased and based on a modicum of knowledge for such products.

To summarise: I think it is an excellent product and beats others I have tried (many, including Boxee box and AppleTV). It is far superior to the so-called smart TV functionality integrated by the likes of Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips etc.

Positive points in my experience:
> Small and compact.
> Does not get hot in normal operation. This is a modern device using a power-efficient chip dedicated for such products.
> Responsive user interface. It is also uncluttered and devoid of any adverts for sponsored content. It can also be tailored (in terms of displayed apps and background image).
> Control via iOS/other app is possible.
> Some useful apps available, e.g. iPlayer, Netflix, Spotify, TuneIn, Shoutcast, Slingplayer, AceTrax, YouTube, Flickr, FaceBook, Twitter.
> Set up is easy.
> uPnP works very well (in terms of content compatibility and trick modes).
> Output of digital audio over HDMI or SPDIF.
> Hasn't yet crashed!
> Is able to play uncompressed AIFF (inc. 24-bit/96KHz) audio files and Apple lossless audio files.
> Boot time from standby is very fast.
> There are two buttons on the RCU that can be configured to perform desired functions, e.g. go straight to BBC iPlayer.

Negative points:
> Like many other devices it doesn't let go of the HDMI connection when switching into standby, which means that it can fool HDMI switches that can autoswitch into thinking it is still on. This means that the HDMI autoswitch does not switch to other devices that happen to be on (as it should).
> Would like 4oD and Demand5 apps to be available.

To summarise, this is a fine product, and the asking price of £40 makes it truly excellent value.
