Finders Keepers (The Bill Hodges Trilogy Book 2)
Finders Keepers (The Bill Hodges Trilogy Book 2)
Price: £5.99

3.0 out of 5 stars A Slow Burner., 3 Oct. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I quite liked Mr Mercedes . Kings thriller and introduction to ex cop private detective Bill Hodges. For the follow up Finders Keepers I was somewhat dissapointed, I found it to slow and the plot quite confusing some unecessary characters. It was nearly halve way through the book that Bill and his unusal associates Holly and Jerome turned up . The main characters it concentrated on were predominantly a teenage brother and sister and an ex con . But unfortunatly being such a slow burner Finders Keepers never ignited for me, however for holiday reading I'm reluctantly giving Final Watch a go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch over your shoulder for Kings Bad Little kid!!!!!, 3 Oct. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Just re read this whilst on holiday , whilst not being a fan of short stories this one was quite easy to digest and shows the master storytellers diversity, in a trip through horror, merged with Kings contempory use of American brand names and bizzarre humour. My favourite which still leaves a shiver ! is Bad little Kid , a story about a child demon that plagues and causes disruption to the life of someone for decades leading to tragedy, I really hope to see Bad little kid filmed or as a mini series.

All in all this collection is quite a treasure if you are new to King or a fan try The Bazaar theres something to find for every one.

This review is from: Hed Kandi Beach House (Audio CD)
Hed Kandi Return in force to there best chilled mid tempoe summer grooves , with house soul and jazzy tempoes . This takes me back to the days of Kandis Blue Six Music and wine and Naked music's poolside grooves .Yes this album is an awesome mix for an endless summer. My only drawback is the cover . This girl falls short of The Jason Brooks legendary sexy illustration of Kandi girls. However the contents what matter and with a selection this good I'd settle for it being wrapped in newspaper ! Yes He'd Kandi are back on form!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Extreme and explicit shadow of The Shawshank !, 18 Sept. 2016
I watched this on a Sky box set series 1-6 in about 10 days, so compulsive I went straight through the sets again ! Oz is an amazing US prison drama , Oz to me was more of an explicit and extreme modern day Shawshank redemption. Be warned if easily offended as Oz is merciless, offensive crossing every politically correct barriers , and over the edge on sexuality issues and no holds barred on violence ! Excellent story lines remarkable characters, you will love and loathe from inmate disabled narrator dreadlocked Augustus to Beecher and his lover serial killer Keller to Arian , white supremist Schilinger . Don't hold back this box set is a must for your winters viewing . Extreme adult viewing be warned !

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Dark, scary and twisted !, 9 May 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Freak show seemed to be a slower burner than the other 4 American Horror Story quality series. I found this more for AHS fans, as Freak Show fires from an alternative angle . lacking the palatial interiors of the New Orleans mansion in Coven or the stylish haunted house rooms and away from the art décor of The Cortez Hotel . The backdrop is predominantly a dismal yet cinematically captivating, eerie colourful fairground. Freak show is warped, twisted, creepy and the darkest of the five A fine, bizarre plot . Freak show is recommended !

The French House (The Missing Boyfriend Series)
The French House (The Missing Boyfriend Series)
Price: £2.62

3.0 out of 5 stars A Girlie read !!!, 21 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After being bowled over by Nick Alexander's Photographers Wife and The Other Son . Looked forward to the French House. . My experience of Alexander's creation of amazing female characters is pristine. C.C the character in this book an independent individual, more so than the heroines in the other two more historic novels I read. This I found quite a compulsive read from an inspiring author , but unfortunately not for me, more for the straight romantic fiction genre . Predominantly a girlie read .

The Other Son
The Other Son
Price: £1.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Alices Story., 2 April 2016
This review is from: The Other Son (Kindle Edition)
After being mesmerised by Nick Alexander's Photographers Wife . I downloaded The Other son. What I found was another excellent novel. as we follow Alice's path through decades from her impoverished , childhood to her current family turmoil's with her abusive husband Ken and her grown sons the wealthy privileged, Tim married to trophy bride Natalia , with his over privileged kids. To the other son! The estranged black sheep drifter Nick ! this is an excellent book of conflicts , via Alexander's superb compulsive prose. With family secrets and revelations saved to the sensational end ! Cant wait to read another Nick Alexander book !

The Photographer's Wife
The Photographer's Wife
Price: £1.99

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb story !, 14 Mar. 2016
I Found the Photographers wife slow to begin with, love flash backs but this written in third person present tense style not my favourite. Once the story developed It was compulsive . Nick Alexander .created such diverse characters .
I found this a sensational story covering ten decades from the blitz to present day. It's Barbara's story from a 6 year old impoverished girl in East London to present day, as she meets with her youngest child Sophie and her life loves and losses, merged with , the worse family secrets , not revealed till the epilogue . Alexander is a master storyteller , throughout the book he drops hints and leaves clues to this excellently plotted novel of identity, betrayal, class and deception. Which I associate in many ways with Mary Wesley's Camomile Lawn classic. ill be reading The Other Son Next.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite a Poor thriller, 24 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Follow You Home (Kindle Edition)
After a promising first couple of chapters this story seemed to dissolve thoroughly ! The characters thin and unrealistic the plot faded and worse is the dialogue, it's inexperienced, unrealistic , conversation ! which I was hoping Edwards would have improved on from the earlier novels

. I read The Magpies, which seemed fresh and promising, followed by Because She loves me, which was average.
for psychological thrillers Mark Edwards based on Follow You Home needs to go along way to come any where near his influence the excellent master Stephen King. But I'm prepared to give other Edwards books a chance.
