2.0 out of 5 stars So much promise... But..., 18 Feb. 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I already had a Quadlock bicycle mount and it works perfectly. So I decided to invest in two of the car mounts, one for each of our cars.

These mounts promise so much with their sleek, solid design. However, within six months both have suffered failures in the adjusting mechanism to change the pan/tilt of the phone. This is despite the only rotary motion being that of mounting and dismounting the phone.

I'd love to give a more glowing report and had only one failed I'd have put it down to bad luck but two failures seems to me to point at a design flaw.

5.0 out of 5 stars A cracking light for the price, 4 July 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I used this light on an overnight charity ride an we had probably 3.5 hours of true darkness during which I sed this light.

I had dipped beam on low and main beam on the highest of the three setting and had good useable light to 50m and enough light to see gross changes in road/hedge direction.

At the end of the more than 6 hours use (switching main beam off at dawn), the three battery status LEDs were all still lit. A number of people with more expensive lights had them die on them after only a few hours of use.

In my opinion this light is as useful as more expensive lights by the mainstream suppliers but by reason of its price, size and build, outstrips them in terms of value for money.

Couldn't put this one down. It was exciting, interesting and just the right level of technical.
An unlikely hero put through the mill.

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic plot!, 22 Feb. 2014

I've read a lot of post apocalyptic books and generally the themes are all the same. This one however, freshens up the genre. Bringing a touch of reality, supported by internal dialogue (not monologue!) with a spectacular ending this book had me smiling, in places, depressed in others and content that all was as it should be in the end.
Highly recommended.

It's a long time since I have read a science fiction novel that both interests me with it's opening, builds through some excellent parallel story lines and finishes with such a positive thrust.

I hope this planet's transition to a world at peace with a place in a wider community is easier than that outlined in this book, but Saxon Andrew's telling of it carries both foreboding, a warning and promise.

Very well done sir.

A fantastic book with characters who grow during the book in situations that seem so far away today but could be so close tommorrow.

I could barely put this book down and I' drecommend it to anyone... Hell, everyone!

3.0 out of 5 stars good story but irritating spelling and grammar, 10 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Interesting story, exciting action but DEAR GOD... Did no one read this before it was published?!

Poor spelling, wrong use of synonyms, missing punctuation, sentences with broken structure, inconsistent use of he/she and ranks.

Possibly the most frustrating book I've ever read.

The author is either a pre-pubescent teenager with literacy issues, or the process of editing the book was never started let alone finished.

Such a shame as it's actually a fun little space opera.
