Mitsubishi Electric MJ-E16VX-E1
Mitsubishi Electric MJ-E16VX-E1

5.0 out of 5 stars Fairly quiet, effective but not cheap, 4 Dec. 2013

Noise & reliability are the big problems with dehumidifiers. This one is quietier than most but I wouldn't want it in the same room as I was trying to sleep in (but others I wouldn't want in the same house as I was trying to sleep in). Build quality is excellant. Very efficient. I use it in a small conservatory which suffered from condensation when the clothes dryer in there was running and to de-steam the bathroom after a shower. It prevents condensation and brings the humidity down from 80% to 50% (it's cut-off level) taking 1/2 to a pint of water out the air within 60 min's. On/Off timers and plenty of settings but you'll probably only ever use one "Easy Dehumidify". Power use in stand-by mode is insignificant. It has a carrying handle but at 10kg (22lbs) it would be too heavy for the old or weak to lug around.
Made by Mitsubishi and made in Japan. This model is also sold in Japan and the USA, where humidity can be much higher than the UK. So you can be sure it's been well made and good reliability record. It is expensive, but I'm hoping it will still be working long after the cheaper noisier ones have broken down and have needed replacing (probably more than once).

Nikon Sporter EX 8x42 Binoculars
Nikon Sporter EX 8x42 Binoculars

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and good value, 4 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very clear optics. Easy to use, reasonably lightweight. 8x42 is ideal for general-purpose bino's. Nice feel to the water-proof rubberised coating. Comes with soft, padded, carrying case & wide strap. Better quality than I expected for this price range. I don't wear spectacles so the best image for me is when the eye cups are fully extended. The eye-cups are extended by rotating them and have click-stops so you can set them in 4 different positions and will stay in position whilst in use or hanging around your neck but need retracting when you pout them back in the case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little chainsaw and good value, 16 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The 16inch Oregon chainsaw is small and very useful for garden work. Being small, it does not suffer from gyroscopic action that make large chainsaws more difficult to handle. Assembly is straightforward and its easy to remove the chain and guide blade for compact storage. It has some good safety features such as rapid-chain-stop.

You do need to rettension the chain a couple of times during the first 10 minutes of use as it initially stretches and 'beds-in'. Tesnsioning is very simple; release the inner locking handwheel a little, rotate the outer tensioning ring, then nip up the inner handwheel again. Takes a few seconds.

Only the tension/locking handwheel protrudes on the right hand side so you can horizontally cut through a stump 2inches (50mm) from ground level. Comes with a small pot of chainsaw oil, you might want to order a larger bottle at the same time you order the saw.

Diced up a 10inch (250mm) pine tree trunk in a few minutes that would have taken a hour or two with a manual bow saw.

I got rapid service from TRUESHOPPING, ordered 1pm and arrived 3pm following day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for connecting Android WiFi devices to 3G modem dongles, 6 Jun. 2012
Most 3G modem dongles cannot be plugged into an Android WiFi Tablet even if it has a USB port. This device gets around this by allowing any WiFi device to connect to a 3G modem dongle or LAN cable that is plugged into the MR3020. A USB power-cable and wall socket adapter is supplied, so as long as you are near a wall socket or a USB port you can use it.
On power-up the WiFi started but it was not connecting to my 3G modem dongle. Logged onto the router configuration [...] as saw it was trying phone networks one-by-one, starting in Singapore. Used the drop-downs to select UK and then my phone network (Three), saved the settings and rebooted and it connects quickly.
Then used the configuration to change the default login and username, SSID name and enable WAP security/password.
Also changed it from 3G ONLY to 3G PREFERRED (so it will try to connect to the internet via a LAN cable if the 3G modem is not plugged into it). Popped my LAN cable into it and it worked fine.
So I can now connect my Android Tablet, phone and Laptop PC using the MR3020 WiFi to either my 3G modem dongle or LAN cable network.
Good signal strength when it is nearby, as this sort of device normally would be.
Very useful - Small, light, easy to set-up and use.
Check your 3G modem dongle is on the supported device list.

Rocksteady - The Roots Of Reggae
Rocksteady - The Roots Of Reggae

5.0 out of 5 stars Infectious, 5 Aug. 2011
Saw the TV show and enjoyed it enough to buy the CD. However it's not just a poor quality TV show sound track; it's really well recorded. A great collection of songs, well performed, well recorded. It's foot-tapping and dancin' music.

If you have not got a Rocksteady album yet this is definitive of the music. Great stuff, buy it now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Adata SH93 - Good value if speed is not essential, 5 Aug. 2011
For a USB-2 equipped notebook/laptop this 500Mb drive is good value. Plug it in and it works (I use it on Win-7 x64bit and XP PC's). It's as fast as any other USB drive.

However, it does occassionally hang up and has a couple of minutes of disc activity before returning to normal operation. Sometimes I unplug it then plug it back in to to stop this. There seem to be two things that set this off...

1. It occasionally does not seem to like having folders/directories created or renamed.

2. It does not like another USB device being plugged in whilst it's connected; especially other "drives" like a USB Memory Stick or SD Card Reader.

Win 7 will not load its drivers properly if it's connected before you power-up.

Sounds a bit rubbish? Not really - Start your PC. When you need the drive plug it in and it works fine; all you need. If you must plug in other devices or memory cards then do it before you plug the drive in.
Inexpensive, plenty of storage space, no set-up, rugged. It's OK.
