Price: £13.09

5.0 out of 5 stars Wooden teether, 17 Mar. 2010
I bought this as I had read somewhere that it was good for teething. The wood is treated and is safe for children to put in their mouths.

It is simple but is made well. The wood on the main ring feels so soft, the coloured ones have a lovely sheen to them but do feel slightly less soft than the main ring - not that this is a problem, just describing it.

Probably not the best item to buy as a rattle, although the wooden rings will obviously bash together and make noise I think there are more interesting rattle noises out there with a more interesting design. It has the ring shapes and fixed ball shape to feel but again there are better toys out there for exploring / feeling.

Although my daughter chews on her other toys it is only briefly, whereas she keeps this for much longer and has started to favour it (she has not had it long). Really happy with this for teething and bonus extra shapes for her to feel and play with.

Kenwood CH180 Mini Chopper, 300 W - White

5.0 out of 5 stars Mini Mixer/ chopper, 17 Mar. 2010
Bought this to make pureed food for baby and so far has been really useful.

It is small enough for the amounts we need to make and gets the food into a nice runny mix. Occassionally a few bits of food slip under the blade, but with a shake / stir these larger lumps can be lifted up and then blended (although not annoying and I think it happens on most mixers anyway!).

The bowl is 10cm wide and 5.5 cm deep. There are no measurements on the outside of the bowl but this is not a problem, and I've not really used any mixers where the bowl has measurements. It would hold about 380ml of liquid comfortably - 400ml goes right to the top of the bowl!

I've had no problem at all fitting the bowl to the machine or the lid onto the bowl. The blade goes in easily and occassionally needs a little twist just to get it to fit fully to the bottom. It is sharp (as expected) so be careful when washing it, I was cut by just the smallest knock against my finger.

To operate it you keep pressing the grey button on top of the machine and release when finished, there is no option to mix without holding the button down.

Overall really pleased, great for baby food and reasonable price on Amazon.

Bought as wedding pressie - asked for contribution to Honeymoon so gave this alongside real pressie! Went down well and was unexpected. Can't really see it being used seriously, I doubt it is that comfortable! Nice material though and seems like it would last well. Lined in the important parts, but I dare if it was seethrough it probably wouldn't really matter as so much else is on show!!

It is as it seems in the pictures, not much else to add!

4.0 out of 5 stars Swimming change mat, 4 Mar. 2010
I am yet to use this a the swimming baths as not going until next week. However, I did take this on a weekend trip as it would roll up and take up less space in the car, as well as being pretty light. It is a nice bright pink colour and feels spongey for baby to lie on (although obviously not really thickly padded as this is not the idea). Only slight thing was as it is useful for swim baths - being waterproof - if baby does do a wee whilst being changed, then it tends to sit on the mat and spread about well. However, as mentioned this is to be expected really!

Pros: Large enough size yet light
Nice colour
Seems comfy enough for 'temporary' mat
Doesn't let water seep in from underneath (eg if on wet floor)
Rolls up well and the end of the roll seems to stick to the mat so that it doesn't keep opening back up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little activity pack, 4 Mar. 2010
This was bought for my 8 yr old niece as a stocking filler at Christmas. There is a small notepad, pen and pencil as well as little squeezy paint tubes and a paintbrush. It was more interesting for her in that there is a little book included in the pack which gives details on how to draw certain Roald Dahl characters etc. which she enjoyed reading and getting direction from.

Overall nice little pressie for a Roald Dahl fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful item as expected!, 13 Feb. 2010
Nice kettle that boils the water fairly quickly - about 3 mins. Don't quite get 2 full big mugs out of it (own mugs) and as mentioned already the 'cups'(??) provided are pretty pathetic. Nice reset feature and good travel size as expected. Be fairly gentle with the lid as it can be pulled off completely if too heavy handed, although easily fitted back into the slots.

4.0 out of 5 stars Taggies book, 13 Feb. 2010
A nice little book with clear, colouful pictures. Basically written out the song 'If you're happy and you know it', so it has been good to sing the song and show my 4 month old daughter how to 'read' a book. The pictures clearly show the actions so it is quite a nice book to help with reading and using the pictures for cues. The characters in the book are animals: pig, cat, dog, etc - all nice ones to learn to say first when the time comes. My daughter also reaches for the little tags, which have been useful in helping to turn the pages (the combination of the book being new and the 'glossiness' of the pages made it difficult for me to page turn let alone my daughter!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely soft toy, 13 Feb. 2010
The pink giraffe has been great for my four month old. She has been kept amused by the jingling noise it makes when moved, and by pushing it about. The fact it rolls back up was particularly good when she wasn't reaching out for her toys. It is not especially tall, but it is of good quality with a pretty design. The taggies make it more quirky, and she has grabbed for them. Overall a nice little toy, and the best price I found was on Amazon.

Braun ThermoScan Lens Filters for Ear Thermometers--Pack of 40
Braun ThermoScan Lens Filters for Ear Thermometers--Pack of 40
Price: £3.24

5.0 out of 5 stars Thermometer lens, 10 Dec. 2009
These are the clear, plasticky covers that fit onto the end of the braun thermometer. I have used the thermometer without these attached and it gives a reading, whether it is the same as with the cover I have not tried.

Whilst being quite delicate they do seem to withstand some heavy handling - I have packed them loose in a travel bag and they have survived the trip well (although they were still inside the little box they come in). Usually though I do store the box of lenses inside the thermometer case as they fit flush inside.

The thermometer still worked for me without them, but I presume they are just an extra hygiene measure (and good way to make extra money!!).

4.0 out of 5 stars lamaze wrist rattle / footfinder, 10 Dec. 2009
I bought these for my 2 month old. I think that the design (colours and patterns) are really nice, although she is not really giving them much attention just yet!! I did think it was good that she had something that could make a noise without her actually having to strike anything that required more co-ordination - for example a hanging mobile.
I did also cut a label of a sock and wrist strap as they tended to make it difficult to fit on. They have however stayed on her even when she wriggles about and she doesn't seem distressed to wear them.

Overall nice little gift to keep baby occupied that is not too expensive.
