4.0 out of 5 stars this is good, 9 Feb. 2004
This review is from: The First Cut (Audio CD)
Having heard and loved 'Harry the Guitar' it was not a hard decision to buy this album. It is superbly put together, and every track is fresh and funky in it's own individual way, definately no fillers here.
Whenever I put it on it surprises me with it's bass lines, beats, atmosphere and just plain funkyness.
If you like funky, jazzy, hip hoppy type music like The Herbaliser, Bonobo, Nightmares On Wax, etc, I can't recommend this enough. Please give this album a chance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life of brian remake?, 28 Feb. 2003
This review is from: Dogma [DVD] [1999] (DVD)
Not since Monty Python's Life of Brian has any film come remotely close to tackling the subject of religion whilst making you laugh out loud in almost every scene.
You could quite easily submit the religious ideology in the script to a professor of theology and not be kicked out the door. This film makes me think quite deeply every time i watch it and i don't know about you but i think thats a rare thing in todays mindless "blockbuster" market.
I don't care about whether people think Kevin Smith has "sold out", a good film is a good film and i personally believe this to be his best. Just because he didn't make it on a budget of 20p doesn't make it a bad film. If you have not seen this film i can't rate it highly enough, if you have, why are you reading this? Make up your own mind.
