Just buy - it will be worth the money!, 8 May 2008
Is this the best ABC album ever? No it isn't. But is it a good album? It is indeed. And more than that actually.
With "Traffic" ABC/Martin Fry has created what he does best: An album with small pieces of pop-art that just makes you feel happy, satisfied and optimistic - even though you know some of that feeling might be influenced by a little nostalgia!
If you have liked albums like "Lexicon of love", "Alphabet city" and "scyscraping" you will definately like this album. It might also be a good album to buy even if you do not know ABC (as long as you think the eighties musically was a good decade). Songs like "Validation", "Lose yourself", "Minus love", "Love is strong" and "Way back then" are simply great pop songs delievered with Martins unique and beautiful voice.
What strikes me about this album is that all tracks are strong and that not one of them should have been left off. This is a rare feeling - just like getting the chance to buy and honest pop-record with brilliant lyrics, great melodies and a soulful voice often is.
Just buy it because you will love it - even though you will still think "Lexicon of love" was better.
