1.0 out of 5 stars as it is made of an extremely poor, brittle material, 26 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This item was due to arrive between 13 and 19 November but did not arrive until 26 November. It had not been stated in the description that it was coming from China. The mask was completely broken on the nose piece, unsurprisingly, as it is made of an extremely poor, brittle material. I expect a full refund for this inferior, broken article.

1.0 out of 5 stars life's too short, 14 Oct. 2014
I gave up on this after just over 100 pages. There are far too many gratuitous mentions of designer clothing and what people are wearing. Pretentious style and unlikely storyline, particularly the invitation by Magda Goebbels to the unknown English stranger. Jane Thynne has a lot to learn from her husband about good writing.

4.0 out of 5 stars A stimulating read, spoilt by bad editing, 19 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not quite as enjoyable as A Small Death in Lisbon or all of the Falcon series but still an excellent read, full of atmosphere and intricate plot changes. This Kindle edition was marred by misspellings and grammar mistakes e.g. "where" instead of "were"; ""sunk" instead of "sank" as the simple past tense of the verb to sink; "wistaria" instead of "wisteria"; incorrect German spelling and execrable French in two short sentences alone. I can only attribute this to bad editing but Robert Wilson, who writes extremely well, also often uses some very strange constructions with misrelated participles. The constant switch in time settings is stimulating and cleverly executed. If not for the printing errors I would have given it five stars.
