Great story, funny, very original, great cast and acting. Just hope Amazon see how popular it is and pick it up for a second season, but I won't hold my breath. Watch anyway as the story wraps up nicely at the end, doesn't leave you wondering...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ep. 1 Excellent. Ep 2, oh dear., 18 Nov. 2016
Excellent, great start to the new show. Wonderful to have the three of them back on screen. Just watch it.

Edit: Had 5 stars for episode 1. But down to 3 for episode 2. Very disappointing, felt very laboured. Big fan of Top Gear, watched every series, but episode 2 of this just dragged. The whole special forces thing....dragged....the killing the celeb....already feels old. Just hope episode 2 was a blip!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible VHS copy, 12 Dec. 2013

Awful. Only paid £1.99 in order to get free delivery on something else, but this terrible copy of a bad VHS tape, including tracking errors, is a rip-off at 1p let alone £1.99.

Don't even be tempted, it's about as explicit as one of those unscrambled phone-in adult channels on sky, about as erotic as a cheese sandwich. Don't waste your time or money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Big dissapointment, 18 Sept. 2013
As a big fan of the TW games, going right back to the original Shogun, I can't say how disappointed I am by this game. I loved Rome 1, and was hoping this would be the game Rome 1 could have been with the advances in PC hardware since it's release, and the advances in the TW games made in Empire, Napoleon and Shogun 2.

For me, Rome 1 got the atmosphere of the game spot on, everything looked right and felt right. Rome 2 just feels...souless. Empty. Nothing feels right.

I haven't had proplems with graphics, but they're not very good. They looked better in Empire and Shogun, where they just seemed better designed, battlefields looked better. Can't think of a better word for it, but they just looked sharper, nicer, Rome looks like you're playing on an older machine and have had to turn everything down to get it to run.

I've only had one crash, during the video at the end of the prologue, so no problem there, although others obviously have had problems judging by other reviews.

But, like others, I feel the battles have been ruined. I'd always thought the forward/backward/rotate formation controls in Empire would work really well in Rome, but unfortunately they're not there. But units just don't keep formation anyway, batttles just become a horrible melee. Really disappointing. As many others have said, the loss of the guard setting for troops is a disappointment, as is the inability to control the use of pilae by your legionaries. For me the battles are really the highlight of any TW game, and this just feels a big step backwards.

The campaign map looks great, but personally I don't like the mulitple cities in a province idea, especially as only the main city can have a defensive wall. The city upgrades feel very limited, with the icons taking some getting use to. Having the pop-up info for the icons in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen is annoying, constantly having to glance left to read the info, glance back to move the cursor, glance left again. Could be just me, but why not have the pop-up next to the cursor as in Empire? Atleast when it appears it's already in your field of vision.

I don't really like the 'armies becoming navies' when moving into the sea. It just doesn't feel right. This is TW, not Civ5, it's supposed to be about realistic strategy gaming, on and off the campaign map, and this just isn't that. Building transport ships would only have taken a turn, having them magically appear when needed is too simplistic.

Many others have mentioned problems with the family tree, character development, random political events that just don't make you feel involved in the game. I agree with most of them, although I find the diplomacy - which others have complained of - to work ok.

In conclusion, the game feels rushed, lacks atmosphere, just doesn't draw you in like Rome 1 or Empire. And the simplification of the battles and compaign map make it all feel like a step backwards. I'd hoped this game would take all of the good stuff from Rome 1, add the technical and gamepley improvements made in Empire/Shogun 2 that the newer PC tech allowed, add some new improvements of it's own, and be a great TW title. Unfortunately this just feels like a step backwards.

1.0 out of 5 stars Truly awful online play, 19 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: FIFA 13 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
I bought this to play online, usually in seasons mode. But the gameplay, as mentioned by others here, is just so frustrating that it's virtually unplayable. The 'first touch' feature, which is supposed to make the game more 'realistic', means your players randomly become incapable of playing football and give the ball away. No reason to it, just totally random. Sometimes the player you are passing to just starts to sprint towards the ball for no reason, even if you're supposed to be in control of that player by then. Of course, due to 'first touch' he is then completely unable to control the ball and it just just bounces of his shins. If not running towards the ball he'll back off from it allowing an opposition player the run in front and get the ball. Nothing you can do about it, just because the you're supposedly in control of the player, you can't stop him doing it.

Goalkeepers are completely hopeless, balls roll past them and they stand and watch (computer controlled players do this often also). They make impossible saves from a couple of yards out, but fail to save a mediocre daisy-cutter from 30 yards. Defenders will run back towards balls going out for a goal kick and touch them out on the line for a corner instead. You can't stop them doing it, the game just doesn't let you control the player.

The defence AI is truly, truly awful. As others have said, just lob the ball over the defence and your attackers can run on to it, while the defence reacts like zombies. Left-back or right-back will often just go missing, either up field or practically playing centre-back, leaving huge gaps for the opposition to run into.

Assisted passing, and even semi-assisted (which is not supposed to control direction), makes totally insane decisions. Passes sometimes go in almost the completely opposite direction to the direction you want it to. A constant problem I find is running down the wing with the ball, you have one player in line with the defence, and another running into the space in front of the defence. You can't pass to the forward player, but there is a clear path to the attacker running in. But the game will almost always ignore you and try to pass to the furthest forward player and give the ball away. 'Through balls' often do the same thing, ignoring your direction on the LS and making stupid passes to players level with the passing player, sometimes even behind. Yes, that's right, a through ball that goes backwards!

The ref, terrible in fifa 12, is no better in 13. Blatant fouls go unpunished, with tiny touches resulting in a foul and a booking. In one game I had a player running back towards goal, chasing the ball, followed by an attacker. My player made a 'sliding tackle' in order to nudge the ball back to the goalie. The following attacker fell over the defender on the ground, the ref gave a penalty and sent the defender off! The ref also gets in the way of the ball, and often your players, far more than he should. He often makes no effort to get out of the way. Also, it's surely not difficult to make sure the ref wears different colours to the teams, but often one team can be playing in red with the ref also in red. It's very hard to tell them apart when your in the thick of the action, effectively giving the other team an extra player in some situations. This is basic stuff!

The auto-change button often gives control to a completely illogical player, sometimes not even a player on the screen, and often nowhere near the ball. Even with auto-change off except for air-balls (the default setting) the game often changes the player you're in control of in normal play without prompting. Sometimes you're trying to defend and in control of a player near the ball and the game changes to a player further away! It often makes defending impossible.

For me this is a big step backwards from fifa12. That was frustrating enough! This might look more realistic with the 'first touch' feature, but really it's just random player stupidity thrown into the mix. No reason to it. Defence AI seems worse than fifa12, attacking AI is improved a little, but with the random direction ignoring of passes or through-balls this doesn't help much (fifa12 also did this, but changing passing assist to semi in fifa12 was more helpful in removing it). Ref AI is just as bad, if in a different way.

A big disappointment, if this is the best a football game can be on the current generation of hardware, than lets have the XBox 720 (or whatever it will be called) asap PLEASE!

And I haven't even started on the bugs...
