5.0 out of 5 stars does exactly what it's supposed to do!, 24 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Cheap and efficient. Used this for my older 320gb hdd to back up my ps3 data, and I also use it to store music.
Now I can play music / video etc on my ps3, xbox, pc, whatever!

If you got a spare hdd kicking about with no purpose, then a caddy will make it useful again!

(also came with a screwdriver to do the assembly)

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad Luck!, 24 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had a bit of bad luck with this model. Came up with "a serious error has occurred "
Could Have just been banged about in the mail, but either way it put me off this make (no offence). I'm sure it works fine for PC / ps3 etc but I would stick with Samsung or seagate or western digital models.
Those are the favoured hard drives for ps3s according the the net.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST HD re-release you will ever play!, 17 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I cant believe how much better the game is compared to the (great) ps2 version. It makes other HD games look average. God of war HD was a good effort but it wasnt on this scale of brilliance.... And silent hill HD? Lets forget that one lol. In kingdom hearts HD the Sound is improved, graphics significantly improved, overall presentation is very good. The main game is what your after, nothing wrong with 'chain of memories' but the original game is the best (except kh2). If you have doubts, dont! Im in my thirties and find the KH series very enjoyable... It aint Skyrim i know, but thats the point, its not trying to be.... Its a jrpg! Heres hoping we see KH2.5 HD next year :)

4.0 out of 5 stars yes it has bugs, but so do alot of games, 7 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
to sum up the new vegas experience, it is a vast 'ripple effect' story rpg which takes time to understand and get into, but well worth it if you have the patience. this is no 'action game with conversations', if you want that then go buy mass effect or dragon age (which are good games dont get me wrong).
this game makes you take EVERYTHING into account- food, water, weapons, armour, carrying weight, moral choices, factions you side with, everything. thats this games greatest strength, its shape is not predefined. everyone who plays it will have a different experience, anyone who has played this game or fallout 3 or any bethesda game like morrowind, oblivion and of course skyrim :) will tell you the same thing!!!

but like every bethesda game before and after it, bugs do exist. from little things like AI screwing up, frame rate issues, or simply stupid things like backrounds and scenery not loading/rendering properly. the ps3 does seem to suffer these issues more than other platforms. i know this because i had the normal version of new vegas on my xbox360 before i got the ultimate edition on ps3, and i do recall the xbox version running smoother, but in my eyes its no big deal.
if you can get this on xbox360 or pc, it might be a good idea to get one of those versions instead. but if your stuck with ps3, its no big deal, it still plays, it still works!!!

oh and a bit of advice to anyone playing it who comes across frame rate issues or freezes (which does happen), i found going to the ps3's special start up menu and choosing RESTORE FILE SYSTEM and REBUILD DATABASE to be an excellent way to improve your consoles performance. dont worry all it does is clean up all the crap in the ps3, your games, dlc and saves will be fine. just DONT choose anything else, you may end up wiping your hdd!!! to find out how to do this, search on youtube about 'ps3 rebuild database' and theres videos to tell you how. its all about holding down the power button a set amount of time but ill let you guys look it up to let a professional tell you how its done.

ENJOY :)

3.0 out of 5 stars xbox live GOLD MEMBERS only!!!, 2 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Halo 4 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
i cannot fault the game for its story, mechanics or graphics as they are all very good, but unless you are online with a gold membership you will find the other half of this game (wargames+spartan ops) locked and unavailable, so its hard to reccomend it unless you are always a gold member.
most will read this and think "whats the big deal with that?"....... well there are some of us out there who are OFFLINE or dont want to pay monthly/yearly payments to have the priveledge of enjoying a game we just spent £30-£40 on. bungie wasnt this tight in halo reach or ODST, so the blame has to go to 343 studios on this one. i 'understand' that to play online multiplayer you need gold but thats not the issue here. to make a game mode as cool as SPARTAN OPS but to not give you the option to play it offline???

its up to you how big a halo fan you are, but be warned. if you dont have online+gold, theres not much point getting it, if your an offline player i would recommend HALO ANNIVERSARY or HALO REACH instead.

3.0 out of 5 stars WTF is going on??? why are you making them worse?, 17 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Soul Calibur V (PS3) (Video Game)
I dont know where to begin with this review. part of me wants to promote how fun and engaging this game is with its stellar 2 player and online modes, but another part of me is screaming with anger at how hollow this games 1 player modes are!!!

there is NO CHARACTER STORY MODE, NO INTROS, NO ENDINGS, NONE!!!
instead they added this linear story called '1607 A.D.' where you play (sophitias son) patroklos in a short and pointless series of battles.

there is NO SIDE QUESTS/ALTERNATIVE MODES.
if you were hoping to see a return of 'Edge master mode' from SC2, or 'chronicles of the sword' from SC3, then you will be dissapointed. instead SC5 offers you 'legandary souls' which is basically a super hard mode........ thats it? just a hard mode.

there is NO PROPER ARCADE MODE, ITS A TIME ATTACK!!!
in my opinion, when a fighting game gives you a mode where your clear time is recorded, and you get no proper intro or ending to that character, its called a time attack, not arcade.

this game is so full of wasted potential. with new and cool characters like Natsu, Viola, Z.W.E.I., and Ezio from the Assasins Creed series, the lack of any story modes involving these characters just makes them pretty much pointless to the Soul Calibur universe. WHATS THE POINT IN MAKING THESE NEW CHARACTERS IF YOU DONT GET TO KNOW WHO THE F*** THEY ARE!!!!
I could bang on forever about SC5 shortcomings but i think you get the rough idea!

what it does do well, it does very well. gameplay is balanced, fun, addictive, and challenging. i cannot fault this game for its 2player and online, its still the soul calibur you know and love. im just so annoyed that they gave us this rushed version when it could have been capable of so much more.
one of my favourate ps2 games was SOUL CALIBUR 3, with its huge amount of fighters, unlockables, game modes (mainly the 'chronicles of the sword' mode), and everything else. i think i spent most of 2006 playing SC3. then SC4 came and went and i personally didnt think much of it. it wasnt bad, but compared to SC3 it felt dumbed down and too simple. but i cant believe how stripped down and minimal SC5 is compared to the earlier games, they cut so much out.

my final verdict of Soul Calibur 5- while its still a good and solid fighting game best played online or with friends, what should have been a true return to form, has ended up being a mixed bag of GREAT GAMEPLAY but LAZY EFFORT!!!!

if i had to choose, i would stick with Soul Calibur IV (PS3), its got more substance to it.

EDIT: just played a 2 hour session of SOUL CALIBUR 3 on my ps2, just to remind myself of how the series used to be....
its quite obvious the series has gone downhill since the third game. funny how a game made in 2005 is superior in nearly every way!

sort it out Namco!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent spin-off, ruined by hardcore fans!!!, 7 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
i always considered myself as a true resident evil fan, from the early days to modern sequels. but now after reading the mixed (leaning on negative) reviews on this game, its clear to me that TRUE fans dont like this game..... ????????

this baffles me, as i seem to enjoy it!! is there something wrong with me?

I got this game on an 'impulse buy', when i was put RESIDENT EVIL 6 in my basket, i noticed this game pop up and thought id check it out. i was hesitent on getting it on release because of what i read about this game, but for £17 i took the plunge expecting it to be an average/poor shooter.

first impressions were strange at first, music was different, menu screen too.
then when i selected campaign where you get to choose one of six umbrella agents, choose weapons etc, then go through a cinematic mission briefing before the game starts. straight away i felt comfortable with this SOCOM/RAINBOW SIX feel and liked it, and from then on ive been playing it ever since. im about halfway through the game and find its a fun (but repetitive) shooter.

yes it has little bugs here and there, the AI is clumsy at times, but i would never say this game sucks. i think the problem lies with the fact its a squad based shooter, and that fans didnt want a squad shooter, they wanted another resident evil 5 but with playable umbrella soldiers!! people who like ghost recon, rainbow six or the socom games will appreciate this game more.
and as for the fans stressing how this is the most awful resident evil ever, they obviously never played 'RE-dead aim' or 'RE-outbreak' on the ps2.

so it seems if your a RE fan that only cares about the scares, atmostphere, and the feel of RE4 and RE5,then i suggest you ignore this game and go with the new Resident Evil 6 (Xbox 360). otherwise i see no reason why you shouldnt try it. i like it, and im a fan of most resi games!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tekken has just landed one BIG steaming dump on Capcom's lawn..... and im glad!!!, 26 Sept. 2012
*THIS IS NOT A GAMEPLAY REVIEW* (in which TekkenTag2 is totally awesome btw)

"dump on capcom's lawn??? whats he on about?" i bet your wondering.

to explain this im gonna have to go into a matter that has been a plague on the gaming scene for years....... DLC!!!! (downloadable content).

for a while now dlc has become the norm in all kinds of games from fighting, shooters and RPGs. but in recent years a certain company has been taking this concept and taking to new lows, its name is CAPCOM!
the best example of this is 2012's STREETFIGHTER X TEKKEN, a colaberation between namco (creaters of tekken) and capcom (creators of streetfighter). this game SHOULD have been my favourite fighting game of all time.
instead its been stained with greed on capcoms part, and about half the game was locked.... like extra characters, costumes, colours etc had to be PERCHASED on the playstation store. it was all already on disc, but us fans had to fork out another £30+ to get the unlock codes to get the full game.

then 'Katsuhiro Harada' said NO!!!

whos harada? hes the guy who created tekken!!!
hes the one who has given us TEKKEN TAG 2, and he has not dissapointed.

you see this game is more than just a 'game', its Harada taking a stand against CAPCOM and all the other companies out there bleeding you dry. he has promised that this game will recieve new stages and new characters with dlc, but that this dlc will be FREE....... YES, FREE!!!!!

now theres a man who cares about his fans over his wallet!
just remember when you buy this game there will be no hidden charges, no locked content. when you pay £40 for this game, you pay ONLY £40!!!
(streetfighter x tekken cost me over £70 alltogether, do the math)

2.0 out of 5 stars WARNING 360 owners, read this before you buy!!!, 17 Sept. 2012
first off i am a huge fan of this game, and its sequel 'KOTOR 2- the sith lords'. so this review isnt about the gameplay (which is brilliant) but the technical issues when playing on an xbox360.
lets get one thing clear, this game is not broken, but it suffers annoying emulation flaws. there are sound issues, like voices overlapping and uneven distance, like when you can here a sith guard talking very loudly when standing half a mile away, but your companion is almost whispering when standing right in front of you. plus there are lags in gameplay, especially during fight scenes.
star wars KOTOR 2 also suffers from similar faults, but less frequently, making it the more playable game out of the two.

so its up to you and what kind of player you are. if your the kind who cant stand faults or glitches of any kind, dont bother with this game. its 'ok' on the 360, but in my opinion your better off playing it on an old xbox.

I have written a similar review/warning for KOTOR 2.

3.0 out of 5 stars WARNING 360 owners, read this before you buy!!!, 17 Sept. 2012
first of all, i am an absolute huge fan of bioware games and love starwars KOTOR 1 and 2, and view these games as truly epic even in this day and age.
my only problem as such is how the xbox360 handles both KOTOR 1+2. this game IS playable, just be prepared for little things to affect your experience. It will suffer from the odd sound glitch (short bursts of fuzzy static) and lag during fight scenes (sometimes smooth, sometimes jumpy) but none of these things make the game broken, just a little annoying.

so if your the type that can play a game despite its technical issues, and appreciate it as an xbox classic, then i recommend you try this game.
but i find it hard to recommend its prequel, which in my view suffers more bugs and glitches to the point you will end up turning it off.

p.s. another bioware classic called Jade Empire (Xbox) is well worth a look, and suffers NO LAG OR PROBLEMS AT ALL!!!
