5.0 out of 5 stars "..the sweetest lump-a sugar that i've ever seen!", 2 Mar. 2007
my title (above) are lyrics from just ONE of the fabulously catchy and down right silly tunes featured in Cry Baby!!

This movie is jam-packed with madness, funny characters, and a sexy toe-tapping turn from Mr. Johnny Depp!!!

you'll love it wheteher you're 8 or 80...fact: John waters is off his head!!!, but thats what makes this energetic film spark!!

With plenty of electrifying songs and an adorably funny performance by Depp you'll be enthralled throughout!!(i know i was!)

sweet and charming musical!! (Johnny only mimes in this :( but he will sing for real in Burton's 'Sweeney Todd' adaptation!!!)

5.0 out of 5 stars a rare and fatally overlooked gem..., 1 Mar. 2007
all i know is i've loved this film since i was 7, and now 17 i still do!

A beautifully crafted tale of an 'unfinished' misfit who's taken in by a local avon salesman..... ya know the rest :D

The first (and my fav) Johnny Depp film, simply because of the justice it did to his acting, bulldozing the 'teen idol' image once and for all. And to think Tom Cruise was originally considered for the role!!

When most actors wouldn't have touched this character with a 50-foot bargepole, Depp bravely lost himself in the title role, linking to the films messages of isolation and confusion in an intimidating world.

The Mesmirising direction by Tim Burton gives a modern telling of a fairy tale with a gothic twist, resulting in what is (in my opinion) one of the most poignant and compellingly beautiful films i've seen in a helluva long while.

Go See it!!!!!!

p.s - i recommend the soundtrack (powerful score by Danny Elfman) - the music stays with you after watchin this *sniff* i'm welling up now! ;(
