I love this. I bought it to celebrate going back to work on my research. It is quite light but considering how cheap it is it is unexpectedly fine and detailed.Design Toscano WU73509 Caesar Augustus of Prima Porta Bonded Marble Statue

5.0 out of 5 stars Most helpful book for learning alone at home, 12 July 2014

I found this book excellent for revisiting my New Testament Greek before starting my Masters. Having tried Wenham, Duff, and a couple of others Mounce is by far the best, easiest to use. One of the things I found most helpful were the little bits of encouragement built in as you go along.
If you want to learn, or revise, your New testament Greek by yourself then I really recommend this book.

This review is from: Being Christian (Paperback)
You can always rely on Rowan Williams to challenge the way you think.
In this short book he takes the basics of the Christian faith and using the rich heritage of thought and reflection scouts out the territory of their meaning. Any mature Christian is going to find points to dispute with Williams or aspects that aren't covered but it needs to be remembered that this is intended to be the beginning of a discussion not the final word.
Williams provides questions at the end of each chapter to help the reader carry on the process of thinking. My only criticism was how short the further reading list was.

4.0 out of 5 stars Expecting a good Lent, 7 Mar. 2014

The material is engaging and challenging. Members of my congregation were discussing week 1's material before the course has even begun.
I've only not given it 5 stars because the layout on the page is not the most user friendly.

Kitchen: Recipes from the Heart of the Home
Kitchen: Recipes from the Heart of the Home

Edition: Hardcover
Price: £23.75

5.0 out of 5 stars Hits the spot, 19 Dec. 2011

Engagingly written, good pictures and well worth the price. There are some assumptions (e.g. 1kg bags of squid being kept in the freezer as a stock item) that slightly jar with my idea of normal life but this is far outweighed by the fit for me of Nigella's ethos of what home cooking really means.
