This isn't usually the type of book I read but thought I'd give it a try. Couldn't put it down. Now going to buy and read his other books. A great find. Would highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read, 16 Mar. 2012
This review is from: Ugly Things (Kindle Edition)
If you've read this writer's other books, you'll know this one is a lot different. It's funny in a weird kind of way. It's all about art and pornography and full of odd people. The main character tells the story and he takes us through a weird series of events that begin when he's disfigured. This leads him to become involved with a porn obsessed artist who makes sticks of rock. It's difficult to explain this book, you should read it. It is funny and very weird and observational. And the character of Kevin, who has OCDs, is brilliant. He steals the show.

As I've said, this book is very different from his thrillers, and the style is very different. But it's a great book with lots to say. I'm sure you'll laugh like I did, especially at Kevin. This book is entertaining, well written and funny. And not forgetting quite graphic in some bits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic, strange and archaic, 1 Mar. 2012

I've just read this again, just because it's funny, witty and prophetic. So much more than just men fighting. It's minimalist. It's direct and is explosive. I love this book. I am Jack's joy and satisfaction! Please read this book.
