This review is from: Dark Souls II (PS3) (Video Game)
I don’t normally review games but I felt I had to as this game is just shocking, reading the good reviews this appears to be the "emperor’s new clothes" of the gaming community, yes its very very hard not because of some genius game design but entirely due to any lack of game design. it appears that a very small section of the gaming community think this is genius and if you don't agree then you are not a true gamer...they are wrong!

Apparently the unique USP of this game is "yes you die a lot then a return a previous point the game and attempt to do everything again" correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t 90% of all game do this since 1980 this...it’s called a check point.

Its hardness comes from making the game mostly impossible, you can recreate this gaming experience by playing any game, preferably one you have not played before, set the difficulty to maximum setting, now try playing the game using only one hand, once you have eventualy completed the first level go back to the beginning and play it again, this is basically what playing Dark Souls 2 is like

If you find repeating the same bit of a game over and over again and again errr and again and you are unemployed or have insomnia or have a spare 10000 hours to achieve basically nothing then this is the game for you!

Do not believe the hype, thinking this is game is awful does not make you a bad gamer
